OMG is one of my favorite groups and I'm loving this cute and playful concept!

That said, I hope they keep it playful, but still age appropriate like Orange caramel and Berryz was able to do with their more playful concepts.

Banana Allergy Monkey is incredible!  It's a SOTY candidate for me.  BANHANA is a sub-unit with Hyojung, Arin and Binnie.

 

EXID dropped this retro bomb on us today as well, I LOVE the '90's New Jack Swing vibe!

LADY's been an earworm the last couple of days. It reminds me of Bruno Mars' popular stuff which pay tribute to 90s music.

 

Also, based on the teaser clips, TWICE's comeback sounds very lackluster. I know the cute girl concept is working for their slew of releases (they are all definitely catchy), but I feel like TT is the only main comeback track that sounds unique compared to the others. I wish they'd branch out a little more, but hey, if it ain't broke don't fix it right?

Yeah I'm disappointed by that preview.

I always felt like their songs had that special something to make it unique and catchy, but their latest stuff has been kind of generic sounding. 

But I'll wait for full MV to judge. Who knows, it could be super catchy.

The MV is amazing! Very creative, and I love all of the references, especially the lala land one.

The chorus is really catchy, but the song sounds kind of flat.

Twice isn't slowing down, their third Japanese single, "Wake Me Up" was announced a few weeks ago and will be released on May 16th, 2018. Today the MV was released. 

 

 

Ah, it's such a catchy song. I've only watched the video once but good grief the song is stuck in my head already. lol

This is definitely their best Japanese single! It has a very jpop idol feel to it (the styling and music) that I feel like their previous Japanese singles didn't have. 

 

Lovelyz also had a comeback. The song is very fresh sounding and cute, but still mature. I could see Apink releasing something like this.

The only thing I don't like is the set. I think something outdoors would have fit the song better.

^THAT's what was throwing me off about the Lovelyz MV!  It would have been 1000x better in an outdoor setting.  The song is great though, Sweetune is back!

 

WMU is incredible, easily TWICE's best Japanese title track yet.

Cube Entertainment's new girl group (G)I-DLE dropped their debut single and MV, LATATA.  It's pretty good, but it seems that it's Jeon Soyeon (the girl in the thumbnail and former Produce 101/Unpretty Rapstar contestant) and her backup dancers at times.

Ok, I officially stan (G)I-DLE now, their debut stage is the best debut stage I've ever seen.

I really like a lot of cube acts (CLC, Hyuna, Pentagon etc) and will definitely be following G(idle). Latata is an amazing debut song. The girls have really unique tones to their voices, especially Yuqi and Minnie.  I listened to the other songs on the album briefly and honestly they're all so good I'm crying.

 

Gfriend also had a new comeback recently. I really like it and never thought the group would release something so whimsical and dreamy like this! Like Cosmic Girls recent song, it's a song that takes a few listens to get it.

AOA with Bingle Bangle

 

PRISTIN's subgroup PRISTIN V with "Get It"

 

I like both, but for different reasons.  AOA showed that they could do well without their ace Choa and came out with a catchy summery hit that is surprisingly charting at #4 on MelOn.  PRISTIN V went with an all-out girl crush that reminded me of songs from 2NE1 or After School (their sunbaes) back in the day but with a more contemporary style.
