Cafe Buono!
Chapter 1

I stared at my watch. 5:58. It was almost time.

I watched as the red second hand made it's way around the circle two whole times.

~It was time~

I walked through the doors. They were painted with a fresh coat of pink paint. Today would be my first day at Cafe Buono.

I looked up from my watch, to see the face of another girl.

She looked a bit older than I was, but at the same time a bit shorter. Although I always was told that I was tall for my age. Her hair was cut short, but it looked good on her. She had a cute face. A wide smile with sparkling eyes.

"Hai! My name's Tsugunaga Momoko, but you can call me Momo!~ I'm 17 years old and my March 6th!~" She gave me a wide welcoming grin "You must be the new girl, am I right?"

She extended her hand. I nodded and shook her hand.

"Un....My name's Suzuki Airi. Pleased to meet you."

She pulled me into a bear hug.

"I'm sure you'll feel right at home here! We'll be best friends!"

Actually, I was pretty much happy that Momoko wanted to be my friend. It was the best thing that had happened to me in a while, so It made me glad I came.

"So, are we the only ones here? Where's everyone else?"

"Actually..." Momo started, "There's not many of us here! The only employees are Miya, You, and Me! Our boss is Shimizu Saki, Captain"

"So..." Momo said with a grin "What brings you here? Captain wouldn't tell me, she said it's top secret between her family.

I sighed. There was no use in keeping it a secret, so I decided to tell her about my life.

"My family was extremely poor. Being as selfish of parents as they usually are, they decided to sell me to get enough money to support themselves. So they sold me to the Shimizu family. Saki wanted me to come to work with her today, so here I am! She said that if I liked it, I could keep coming back."

Momo looked at me as though she was about to cry.

"Those big meanies!~" She pouted, "How could they sell a cute girl like you? They could've made money off of you in other ways!"

I stared at her with wide eyes.

"Other ways?"

"Yeah, you know.....like idol work!~ A lot of agencies make big bucks off of cute girls~"

I just kept staring at her like she was crazy or something. I think I was leaning toward the idea of her being crazy.

"Okay, you're creeping me out Airi~ Anyways, you should be glad that you were sold to the Shimizu's, they raise you as family~" Momoko continued.

********Creeek**********

We both turned around as quickly as we could. Momo started giggling.

"Sugoi!~ Miya, you almost scared me to death!~ Don't do that! It's bad for the heart!~" Momo squeeked.

"Oops! Sorry Momo! Dang you're so quiet here! What were you doing with the new girl? Telling secrets or something?"

"Maybe...." Momo replied.

"Anyways, what's the new girl like?"

Momo pouted. Her upper lip stuck out over the lower one in a very cute manner.

"I don't know, why don't you find out for yourself meanie..."

Miyabi smirked back.

"Okay then, Momo. Maybe I will!"

She looked around the room, still not noticing me there.

"Okay...where is she?"

Momo giggled "Right next to me! You really do need to get your eyes checked, don't you?"

"Shut up Momo!"

Momo kept on giggling.

Miyabi turned to me. She gave me one quick look. I watched as her eyes widened. She gave me a weird look, and then turned to Momo.

"Well.....I gotta go to do something......."

"Yeah, right. Like what?" Momo replied

Miyabi looked troubled.

"Ummm......Something...."

Before Momo could press for details, Miyabi was already out the door.

"Was there something wrong with me?" I asked.

"No....Miyabi usually isn't shy, like ever....." Momo replied.

I didn't really feel well anymore. Maybe Miyabi hated me or something. Whatever it was, she didn't look comfortable, and all she did was take one look at me! What did I ever do to her? I wasn't extremely ugly, or mean looking, was I?

"Anyways, never mind Miyabi! She's a meanie! I have to show you around!~"

Momo took my hand, and lead me through the different rooms.

"This is the lobby, it's where all the costumers just sit down and enjoy their food!~"
"This is the room where Saki cooks all the treats, and we serve them to our costumers."
"Lastly, this is the lounge where we take our breaks!~"

Momo finished giving me the tour, and brought me over to the lounge. Saki was over by the drink machine, getting herself some water.

"So you finished giving Airi the tour?"

"Hai!~"

"I guess you already met everyone then!" Saki chuckled "Weird bunch of people, right?

I nodded "Just a bit...About that Miyabi girl....."

"Miyabi? What about her?"

"She keeps giving me weird looks for some strange reason! I didn't even say anything to her yet!"

"Weird looks? Wonder why....Anyways, it's time to open the cafe...."

She walked over to the lobby, and switched the closed sign to open.

"Well, I hope you enjoy your first day at Cafe Buono, Airi!~"

I fell on my bed, exhausted from my day of work.

I had to admit, it was pretty fun dealing with the costumers and handling the food.
Lunch time was amazing, we ate the cafe's food, and I have to say, that was the best meal I had ever had. Momo was a fun person, and Saki was just awesome (although she preferred that I called her Captain).

Saki came into my room that day, and asked me an important question.

"Do you want to keep working at Cafe Buono, Airi?"

I really liked Cafe Buono, even if I was exhausted to death. But one thing I knew I just had to find out, was what Miyabi's problem was with me.
She knew something that made her uncomfortable, something I didn't know. Something she didn't want to tell. That's why she was avoiding me.

"Yes...I want to stay"

I had to find out. What did Natsuyaki Miyabi have against me?

Interesting first chapter. Momoko as always is a ball of energy, but Miyabi is an enigma. Why she acting like that around Airi? And wth? Her family sold her? That's wrong!! But at least she's with a good family now. (i hope)

Hey not a bad fic. Though the wide post of the chapter annoys me. I had to come back later to read it and suck it up. lol But the story is overall good. =) Is this Miya/Airi love I seeeee? lol so I'm not that only one now that's making that pairing. And the story is in Airi's POV nice. I can't wait for more. I think it's cute that they work in cafes. Do they wear the maid outfit? lol

***Chapter 2***

I grabbed my jacket, and walked out the Shimizu's mansion doors with Captain.

It had been 3 days since I started at Cafe Buono. I was officially a waitress there, along with Momo and Miyabi. Ever since Day 1, Miyabi's been avoiding me for unknown matters. So, I've never yet gotten the chance to talk to her, let alone force out the truth of why she'd been acting like this. Myabe she just didn't like me, but that was her problem.

Captain pushed the door open, and we both stepped inside. I wish I hadn't though.

It was so loud. Momo was squealing and Miyabi was picking a fight with who knows who.

That's when I saw them. There were 6 girls standing across from Miyabi and Momo. They were arguing with each other.

"You guys were the ones who threw toilet paper all over our place, weren't you?" A tall girl accused.

"No we weren't! You stupid......" Miyabi scowled.

"Yeah.....We didn't do it!~" Momo said giggling.

"Yeah right! Chipmunk's giggling Maimi!" A small girl with shoulder length hair stated.

"Shut up, Pea Brains! You don't have any proof, do you?" Miyabi shot back.

I had to admit. She seemed pretty cool, standing up for us.

Captain stepped inbetween both groups.

"Your little group of idiots wrecked our Cafe. You should try to control your jealousy." Maimi complained.

"You don't have proof! Fyi, we have way more costumers than you guys!" Miyabi yelled.

Captain stopped her.

"She means that she's sorry. We'll go over to clean it up right away!" Captain apologized.

"And then we'll egg your Cafe tomorrow...." Miyabi muttered under her breath.

Maimi turned to me.

"Who's this?"

"My new sister..." Captain replied.

"She's kind of cute!" I heard a tall girl say.

"Why bother hanging with these losers? It's way better with us!" Maimi whispered in my ear.

She handed me a piece of paper, and made her way out of the Cafe.

"Cute?" Momo complained, "Don't listen to them Airi! They just want you to turn on us! Meanies!~"

"Who were they?" I asked.

"Maimi's Captain's cousin. They are our rivals. Cafe C-ute." Miyabi explained.

It was the first time Miyabi ever talked to me (Although she didn't say much) I was kind of happy in a way that she even said anything.

In the end, we spent the whole day cleaning up the other cafe.

It was a Saturday morning, so I didn't have any work at Cafe Buono.

I stared at the crumpled piece of paper that Maimi had handed me yesterday. It had an address on it, which I assumed was to Cafe C-ute.

I wasn't sure whether to go or not. Would it be betraying my friends if I did? In the end, I decided to go. What was the worst that could happen.

I pulled on a white blouse and jeans, and headed out the door.

Once I got to the right place, I was pulled inside by Maimi.

"Hey, Airi!" She greeted, "Thanks for coming!"

She pulled up a seat and the other girls sat around us.

"We're really glad you came! Now let us introduce ourselves....I'm Maimi, the head of this place. As you probably know, i'm Saki's cousin."

"My name's Umeda Erika!" The girl next to her intoduced.

"Hagiwara Mai desu!"
"I'm Nakajima Saki!"
"My name's Chisato"
"Hi! I'm Kanna Arihara!"

"Anyways..." Mai said, "We want you to join us..."

"Join you?"

"Yeah, like become a member of our cafe!" Chisato continued.

"B-but I can't....wouldn't that be betraying Cafe Buono?"

Maimi looked at me seriously. I could see her lips form into a smirk.

"Betraying? They don't even like you! Natsuyaki avoids you and never talks to you. Is that what a team is supposed to do?"

I shook my head. She did have a point there.

"Here at Cafe C-ute. We're a real family. We don't hate each other. Each one of us treats each other like a big giant family. We all love each other, and we don't hide things from each other."

"Hide things?"

"Oh please, you think your friends back at Buono are loyal to you? Then think again."

Not loyal to me? I was hated at Cafe Buono? They all hated me?
