In the pursuit of better educating myself, I decided to watch every single MV from AKB48 and sister groups (but not subgroups not included in singles), which amounts to... a ton. Needless to say, I learned a lot.

Yeah, and if you haven't watched the PV's before, you're going through them fresh and relatively unbiased. One PV that comes to my mind that was very simple, but which I liked a lot, was "TWO ROSES": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cwbkn26laE (full, but non-HD)
I want more "experimental" stuff...

Ah, that one was great! SKE honestly has the most music that I liked although I don't care for WMatsui, but that video was wonderful. I think they should move away from the "drama" versions, because even when they're done well, I still don't feel like they add anything to the overall experience because they usually make no sense in relation to the MVs. I think the novelty of those wore off pretty quickly.

There is one video from 2012+ that is not the main single. The main single was not that good and this video is not great. But it looks like the person making the video squeezed every penny out of the budget.
It's like a dance shot video. The director is pretty famous or has the same name as a famous director.

Could anyone tell me which 48G music videos have a full drama version? The wikipedia list is lacking many of them.

Oh My God! and Fuyshogun no Regret for NMB. Junjou U-19 and Bokura no Eureka might count. Virginity, HA!, and Kamonegics have drama versions, but none are music videos.

In this context drama would be the distinction between multiple versions of the video, I guess, since the official names seem to go back and forth between "drama ver." and "full ver." Like how Everyday, Kachuusha has a "drama ver," a "dance ver," and then just the general PV that mixes elements of both. The issue I'm encountering is not knowing whether those multiple versions exist, although I think I've managed to watch all of the ones you said, includ...

Translated an interview with Natsu-sensei, the choreographer and audition judge for both MM and AKB. She gives a lot of information on her personal experiences and divulges into what makes a good idol and what they look for in auditions.

Making Oscar predictions after seeing so many of the movies just makes me upset because I don't agree with some of the frontrunners.

Also if anyone knows anything about performing rights organizations in the US, it'd be super if you could help me out with a paper.

Is that everyone should really stop using the word "opinion" as a guise for a personal attack. This whole roundabout defense makes you look foolish.

I got came from reading another one of these type of "discussions" in The Girls Live thread. There are literally not enough facepalms on the planet.

Now, I've been known to dispute opinions on pop culture, that's what this whole forum is about, but there's a distinct difference between arguing over business strategy, propositions, or general quality and arguing over feelings because one too many people took something personally. At some point I have to stop participating in such discussions because I run the risk of posting, "You're stupid."

Seem to be getting revenge on AKB for jumping in front of them at Nissan Stadium, haha.

So Momoclo becomes the first female act to perform there but AKB will be the last act to perform there before it is demolished. Which is the better deal? Lol.
Arashi fans are going crazy either way.

The real question is: Who will perform there first after the renovation? Lol. Have you seen the designs for it? Looks like an alien spaceship. :P

So apparently Maimi called Rina "Nakanishi Kana" to her face on stage, after which Meimi added that Maimi had also been under the impression that Ayumi was in S/mileage. Hmm.

It is, according to the fans who went to the most recent Naruchika. There was a group MC and Maimi introduced Rina as Kana, which 2ch describes as "the moment time stopped." She tried to brush it off saying that she did that sort of thing a lot and she was sorry, but then Meimi described how Maimi had passed by Ayumi one day and asked, "So how's S/mileage doing?" as if she were a member. Of course that led to the 2ch joke that no, Ayumi is in J=J, but yeah, Maimi doesn...
