Hi I know my question is out of the topic, but I was wondering,, did Suzuki airi and yamada ryosuke ever met in person? I really want to know,,

High likelihood that they did off-camera. I mean they work in the same industry (and started around the same year) so they most likely did.

Also Mikansei Girl~~~  <3 I used to be so iffy on Airi being a soloist because she has the type of voice that I personally would get tired of if I heard it in an entire song. Like she has a really good and pleasant voice and is also awesome to hear live, but it was only ever good in bits and pieces or climaxes of songs. But oh man, she's grown so much in recent years that she knows how to make her singing sound interesting. Ever since I heard Urayanjau I thought that she'd actually really sound well on solo songs if she continues to put her own singing style into her songs. I also squealed when she sang a cover of Mikazuki during her acoustic live with Maimi, which is one of my favorite japanese karaoke songs. I think she'll do great. One thing that a lot of people look for in an artist is if they're good live, and Airi's got that hands down. She just needs to practice more on refining her voice since she's still a bit rough on her high notes.

Truly enjoyed Mikansei Girl, hopefully we get to hear her tackle more styles. Can't wait to hear the whole album! I might actually buy it~ :D

Evidently the Cotton Club applications exceeded expectatations so more live dates have been offered, two at Zepp Tokyo and one at Nanba Hatch in Osaka WITH A LIVE BAND.

Oh my god I'm so happy she's getting such a great debut! :D  I really hope she gets promoted properly and becomes mainstream

On a side note, I wonder how they're going to fill the setlist, whether it will be a totally fresh start or whether she'll perform some C-ute/Buono songs too

Welp, UF IS taking it a bit more seriously with Suzuki - than i was expecting. That's good. Unlike what they've done with other ex-H!P idols, for like forever.

Not sure exactly what they (UF) have done to warrant filling up an arena (i.e. Budoukan) solely by herself, promotion-wise, since C-ute's disband last year but they are clearly banking on existing fandoms being more than enough to do this.

And perhaps going for it now as opposed to a year or two later is a smart move, who knows what would happen with Suzuki's solo career then. Do it while it's still relevant, so to speak. Don't have to fill all the way to the upper level, as long as they sell seats close to 8k, it should be considered a success. They might try to bring other non H!P UF acts as guest/opening acts to sell, but we shall see.

If anything, it should show that they are (sorta) serious with this. That this may not be some half ass effort (cough, Pink Cres, cough, LoVendoЯ) by them, at least in the begining.  :good:

Don't even remember when was the last time an UF affiliated solo act did an arena (over 10k+ seatings). Not Mano. Not sure if Goto/Matsuura/Abe ever did one even during their peak years as they almost always did plaza/music hall level, not arena.

It could be that the value of Budokan is so diluted nowadays that this is not as a big deal as years before and yeah sure, but any time UF does something they haven't done before and take some risk, you gotta give them some kudos.

It's a smart move by UpFront IMO, she still has name recognition and a large fan base.  Strike while the iron is hot, I guess.

From Cotton Club to Zepp Tokyo to the Budokan! Damn, that was quick! :D

One can only presume UF is merely reacting to demand, agencies aren't in the habit of booking shows that won't sell......

Yes. Out of all current rosters under UF, she is literally and figuratively the only possibility, however unproven she is as a solo act. Who else is there? Maybe Chisato (Moritaka), if she pulls a special (final as in retirement or a milestone one off) concert or something. Normally, I don't think even she can at this point of her career.
