~*Till I Find You*~
Chapter 1: The Calm Before
Chapter 2: Unspoken
Chapter 3: Falling Away
Chapter 4: Shadows
-----------------------------------------------------------------
And here goes the first piece! I wrote this poem ages ago, or rather, a different version of it for myself. I decided to change it a bit and post it as kind of a oneshot for SayuEri, with this being from Eri's PoV. Feel free to comment, I'd love to hear how everyone interprets and thinks of this.
You
Do you remember the day we met?
I spoke to you with kind words and an outstretched hand,
Which you kindly accepted, no questions asked.
And for that I am forever grateful.
We talked about many things,
Exchanged stories and thoughts,
You told me of your life, family and friends,
And I was there for you.
Sometimes you came seeking advice;
Other times just someone to rant to;
Or perhaps you were looking for a shoulder to cry on.
And I was there for you.
When you fell, I helped you stand again.
When you were lost, I helped you find your way.
Once upon a time, you needed my support.
And I was there for you.
But then you could stand on your own.
You’d become confident enough to find your way.
No longer did you need my support.
But I was still there for you.
I felt relieved that you had found your strength.
I felt pride in the confidence you had gained.
Overjoyed by how much you had grown,
And hopeful at what heights you might fly to.
But then the day came where we parted ways,
Your life took you to places I couldn't reach
And soon I found my thoughts had changed,
No longer could I be there with you.
Do you remember the day we met?
After the years we had spent apart.
We had taken separate paths and yet,
Our lives had crossed again.
I had been crying in our secret place,
Beneath the blooming Sakura tree,
I was lost and I was lonely,
With not a soul to comfort me.
Then through my tears I saw,
A familiar face and open arms,
And without a thought I walked forward,
Into your warm embrace.
Into the warmth of the heart I once touched,
Into the comfort of the chest I once embraced,
Towards the sweetness of the scent I once knew,
And the softness of the lips I found I now yearned for.
So there I stood, with you once again,
The two of us, lives forever entwined,
And I think, perhaps, after all this time
It was I, who needed you.

I like very much the poem. I don't normally read poems, but this one really kept me into it and made me want to finish reading it. You have great talent writing poems, keep up the good work.
I would love to read another poem from you related to Morning Musume.

Anyways, enjoy~
*~~~~~~~*
Lost
My breath turned to ice
on the winter-chilled window
as I gazed at the stars
so far in the distance,
How could you be gone?
Outside your window
The streets were filled with joy;
Children smiled at their parents,
Lovers took comfort in each other's arms
and all that did was to make me all the more lonely.
Turning, I caught myself in your mirror
I couldn't believe it was my reflection
Who was this stranger staring back at me
with the empty eyes that were supposed to be mine
blurring as the tears overflowed.
And then for a moment I thought I saw
The shadow of your arms around me
The shadow of your hand wiping away my tears
The shadow of your eyes gazing back at mine
But all it was, was a shadow.
Your sweet voice echoed in my mind
Your smile, forever outshining the sun
Your soft touch, forever etched into my skin
Your warmth, forever lingering in my soul
And my heart, without you
Was forever lost.

Till I Find You
===============================================================
Chapter 1: The Calm Before
===============================================================
The morning sun beamed in through the window, bathing a sleepy Sayumi in warmth. Her alarm had gone off earlier, but she had managed to hit it with one of the numerous pillows on her bed, knocking it off the stand and miraculously turning it off. She stirred as the daylight crept slowly up her face towards her eyes. Mumbling, she pulled the sheets up and turned over, refusing to heed the sun's call.
"You're going to be late!" Sayu's sister said as she burst into the room a good half hour later.
"WHAAAAAT?!" Sayu shouted, "Oh man oh man, gotta go gotta go!" Twenty minutes later, she was out of the house and in a cab on the way to work. They had so many rehearsals lately that she could barely keep up, and it was starting to take a toll on her. But she had to do her best for the new 9th gen members. She had promised Eri that she would look after them. They were still in training though so she hadn't had a chance to work with them yet, but she wasn't about to be caught unprepared when the time came. As the cab pulled up to the dance hall, she noticed a hooded figure getting into the cab in front. "That's odd," she thought to herself, before heading inside.
She headed towards the dance hall, lost in her own thoughts. "Am I good enough?" she questioned herself, "Can I really take care of the new members?" Suddenly, her foot caught an uneven panel in the flooring and sent her crashing into a familiar face that had just came running down the intersecting hallway, and the two tumbled in a heap.
"Oww oww oww," the voice cried out from beneath her. She opened her eyes and caught those of the other girl and blushed instantly. Aichan stared back at her, blushing as well for a moment before Sayu quickly regained her composure and pushed herself up off of her, turning away.
"Well, at least I'm not the only one who's late today," Sayu said quickly, trying to calm her tomato red face, "Comon, we gotta hurry!" She turned back, offering her hand to Aichan who was obviously giving her a sour look, and the two took off towards the dance hall.
===============================================================
Reina looked up from her phone and laughed as Aichan and Sayu stumbled into the room where Gaki gave them her customary disapproving look and motherly scolding.
"You guys are late! We've got tons to do today so get a move-on already," she said, shooing them into the dressing room.
Gaki had become a bit more concerned with the other members lately, more serious. "Maybe it's cause Eri's not around for her to fool around with..." Reina thought, but she shook the thought away. Her eyes wandered back to the text from Aika on her phone. She had been sick lately and hadn't been able to come to practice for nearly a week. "I hope you're feeling better! We really miss you here~ (ノ><)ノ" she quickly texted in reply, sending it without even glancing at her screen. She closed her phone and tossed it on her red sweater lying beside her on the tabletop.
So many changes had happened since last year. Between the new members and the graduations, it was pretty obvious everyone was at least a little stressed. Each of them had lost someone they were close to. Of course, she didn't intend to talk to any of them about it. Reina found it particularly painful to think back to that day, so she buried it in her heart and kept up her cheerful yanki exterior. She hopped off the table and joined the others, giving Aichan a good poke on her forehead and flashing Sayu a smile, drawing a giggle from her. With the mood lightened a bit, they headed in.
===============================================================
Aika tugged absently at her violet scarf as she strolled through the park. Being cooped up at home wasn't really helping so she decided to take a walk. The crisp spring air and budding trees lifted her spirits; a new year, a new beginning. She made her way to the center of the park, coughing a few times along the way, still a bit drowsy. Good thing she had worn a mask out. It wouldn't do to get anyone else sick after all. She took a seat on one of the benches that sat on the edge of the central park. A stone fountain sat in the center of the clearing, although it hadn't been turned on yet as the weather was still too cold. The grass had begun to sprout and small patches of green showed among last year's remains.
She flipped out her phone and read through the new messages. There had been five new ones; one from each of the members, except Reina had sent two. They were the usual get well messages, which were of course nice to receive, but Reina's messages stood out to her the most. The first read, "I hope you're feeling better! I really miss you here~ (ノ><)ノ" while the second one said, "I'll be dropping by after practice and bringing a little friend so be ready!" Aika smiled at the two messages and she rubbed away the tears that threatened to blur her vision. To see the soft side of Reina around others was quite rare, but when just the two of them were together, it really came out.
She let out a sigh and gazed around the park. Random couples were sitting around, enjoying the morning as she was. A group of girls were over on the other side, tossing a ball around and hanging out. Completely oblivious, one got nailed in the head by a stray toss and brought up a wave of laughter from the others. Aika smiled a bittersweet smile. It hadn't been the same since the three left. There had to be something she could do to pull everyone together, something...
The drowsiness soon took over, and she fell into a troubled sleep.
===============================================================
"Good thing this water is COLD!" Gaki thought as she splashed her face from the tap. They had been dancing for hours with only a few short breaks, and since the air conditioning was broken, it was hooooooooooot! She wiped off her face with a fresh white towel from the giant stack nearby... "Why do they have so many towels anyway..." she wondered as she walked back into the common room. At least they were done for the day.
Reina had already left, saying she had a few errands to run, while Sayu and Aichan were at the mirrors fixing up their makeup for the afternoon. She debated whether it was worth the effort to try and sneak up behind them, but seeing as how there were mirrors... and that she was already behind them at the time she finished thinking, she just glomped Aichan from behind, sending a puff of makeup powder into the air.
"Ahh Risa! Don't, I'm all sweaty and gross!" Aichan squirmed. Not about to be outdone, Sayu jumped in as well. Partly irritated that Sayu joined in and partly because it was just too hot, Gaki pulled away.
"Any plans tonight Aichan? I thought we could go to the karaoke place or something, maybe have dinner?" she asked.
"Ah, sorry I've got plans...t-tonight. M-Maybe some other time," she said, stuttering as she frantically dodged Sayu's attempts to land a kiss.
"Oh, I see. Well next time then I guess," Gaki sighed, a bit dejected. "Guess I'll go chill at the park then," she thought to herself while trying to get Sayu off Aichan. "Come on Sayu, that's enough."
Once everyone had gotten their things together, they headed outside and parted ways. Back in the room, a little pink box sat unnoticed in the darkness.
===============================================================
Aichan wandered about the streets near her place. She had finished shopping for her groceries for the week ahead of schedule and had already gone to the bakery, so she had some time to kill. Down the street, a fluffy brown dog came running up to her, and she instinctively jumped away into a corner when it neared. It came closer, sniffing the ground as if looking for something. Aichan relaxed a bit, and it came up to her, pawing at her jeans. "Must be the bread," she thought as the owner came rushing towards her.
"I'm so sorry, he just can't seem to stay on his leash," he apologized, "Playing in the rain and getting sick, running off with our mail... Oh, excuse my rambling. Sorry again, have a great day!"
She smiled. "Ah! I should get something for Aika," she thought as the man walked away with his dog in tow. Aichan headed over to the pet store, spending a good half hour picking out the perfect card with the cutest puppy on it. As she walked out of the store, a flower shop across the street caught her eye. Mixed scents of flowers filled her mind as she stepped in the door. They carried everything, from sunflowers to tiny daisies and various herbs. She looked at each flower carefully, trying to recall what Gaki had told her of what each flower meant. After some thought, she picked up a few white snowdrops for Aika.
"I should get a few for Gaki too," she thought, "I've been turning her down a lot lately, so if I can even make up for it just a bit..." There were so many things she wanted to say, so many things she wanted to tell Gaki, but at the same time, she didn't want to be too forward. In the end, Aichan decided on a single dark pink rose paired with a small bunch of daffodils.
Thanking the shopkeeper, she headed outside. Instantly, she was met by a chilling gust of wind, in response to which she quickly turned back inside and pulled out a white jacket from her bag to put on. Underneath was a golden woollen scarf she had received from Gaki the Christmas before. She stared at it for a few moments before taking it out and wrapping it around her neck. She closed her eyes and smiled, letting the scent of the flowers and the warmth of the handcrafted piece spread through her. In the empty bag space she had just created, she placed the flowers to protect them from the harsh wind, careful not to damage them.
The train station was packed as usual for this hour. Everyone was heading home after all, but not Aichan. She had decided to head over to Gaki's place and visit. No sense in having the flowers sit around at her own place, and Gaki's house was near Aika's, so she could head over there afterward. As the train pulled up, she relaxed and let the crowd guide her onboard. Though there was little space as people continued to pile into the overloaded train car, she managed to keep enough between her and the window to place her bag and keep the flowers safe. The intercom beeped a few times, and the doors closed just as the train began to move, taking her and thousands of others off into the tunnels.
"I really hope she's home," she thought, "but if she's not I guess I can wait for her." She fumbled in her bag, closing her hand around the familiar shape of the key that Gaki had given her.

Chapter 2: Unspoken
===============================================================
Outside, the sky had become rather unfriendly. Dark clouds blotted out the sun, looming over her with the threat of rain, or snow perhaps. It matched her mood perfectly. She wandered towards the park, hoping for the sky to open up and cover the world in pure whiteness. Instead, it decided to add to her misery by raining instead. She pulled a small green umbrella from her bag, raising it to deter the offending droplets. Everyone else in the park seemed to be running for cover. Everyone, that is, except for a single figure on the other side of the clearing, sitting on one of the benches. Gaki ran over quickly to see if something was wrong.
"Hey, are you ok? Oi!" she nudged her a bit, but she didn't answer. Looking a bit closer, her eyes widened in surprise. "...Aika? OH MY GOD WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE? AIKA, WAKE UP AIKA!!" she screamed at her. "..." No response. She shook her again. "AIKA WE NEED TO GET OUTTA HERE!!" ... she let out an exasperated sigh, "Oi! Wake up!" she nudged her again, harder this time. Still she didn't budge. Suddenly, her head came down from the clouds and her eyes widened in realization. "...To come here when you're sick and end up in a state like this..." she sighed again, wishing the other members would take better care of themselves. Not that she was one to talk at the moment, but she still couldn't help to think it. "Well, I guess I've got to get you outta here somehow," she said, defeated, and started contemplating the task lying right in front of her.
===============================================================
The train streamed up into open air and was instantly blasted by a torrent of rain. Those closest to the windows rushed to close them, though it was already too late to avoid getting drenched. Aichan had luckily been standing right in front of the window, so the rain had blown right over her into the rest of the crowd.
"Ahh I'm sorry, sorry, sorry," she attempted awkwardly to bow to them in the cramped space. A few of them laughed, and told her not to worry so much. She blushed, realizing that was a silly gesture but felt better having done it anyway. She almost fell over when the train lurched slightly as it pulled into the station, again drawing more apologies from the flustered girl. The overcrowded passengers somehow made way for her to get off the train where she was greeted with the fresh scent of spring rain. Luckily, the platform was sheltered so she didn't get soaked instantly. Depressing clouds rolled overhead, dropping tears that hammered the leaves of the trees on the far side of the tracks, sending small droplets splattering onto the platform. "WAGGHHHH!" she screamed a manly scream when she looked down and noticed a beetle had landed on her foot from one of the droplets. She flung her leg wildly to get it off before turning red with embarrassment as she noticed all the people staring at her around the platform. Grinning sheepishly, she made her way off the platform in the direction of Gaki's house.
===============================================================
Gaki's PoV
I had stuck my umbrella into Aika's jacket so that it somehow managed to cover her, but it just wasn't big enough to cover my head. The air was getting rather cool, and it would have been a welcome coolness had it not been raining. I could almost see my breath as I huffed and puffed my way along the side of the road, sweat mingling with rain as it trickled down my face. "Good thing you're light Aika, or there's no way I'd be able to make it this far," I said to the sleeping figure weighing down on my back, just as my knees gave a slight creaking noise.
"Almost...there...!" I grunted as I crested the final hill and turned onto the path leading to my front door. Reaching into my back pocket, I found the key and fumbled with it with one hand until I managed to unlock and open the door. "Good thing there's a guest bedroom on the first floor," I thought as I kicked off my shoes, "I'd die if I had to make it up the stairs." I headed over to the twin-sized bed and pulled back the sheets. Sliding Aika slowly off onto the bed, I could feel her body tug at my clothes; a cold wetness washed over my back. "Aww man, even with the umbrella we're both still soaked," I thought aloud, "we're gonna catch colds like this..." After pulling off her boots and throwing them off to a corner, I swept Aika's wet bangs off her face and placed my hand on her forehead, then instantly pulled away. "OMG YOU'RE FREEZING!!" I shouted, "Ahhh what to do what to do?!" I tugged at my shirt and glanced at Aika. A million thoughts ran through my head as I contemplated the possibilities. "Well... nobody's home... and it's o-ok... t-to get warm r-right?" I asked nobody in particular, teeth chattering slightly as the coldness crept through me. I yanked off my green top and jeans before scurrying about the house, looking for extra blankets.
Coming back to the room, I could hear Aika breathing heavily. "I have to warm her up, and fast," I thought, "but that means taking off her clothes..." I bit my lip and decided it had to be done. Still, I hesitated, prodding at her clothes gently with my index finger. I lifted her up into a sitting position and pulled the shirt up over her head forcing an audible gasp from the girl, then tossed it into the same corner as my own clothes. A shock blasted through me as Aika toppled over, her cold smooth skin pressing into mine. But somehow, it wasn't the cold that shocked me... I couldn't quite put my finger on it but decided to ignore it. After a few moments, I managed to force my hands to push her away from me back onto the bed. Unbuttoning her jeans made my face flush slightly, and I found myself admiring her body after the jeans found their way into the land of cold wet refuse. She had worn matching lilac undergarments... I shook my head hard. "Risa, Risa, RISA!!" I shouted, clenching my eyes shut in an attempt to get back down to reality, "just WHAT are you thinking? Ahh mou!"
I turned and grabbed the blankets before lying down beside Aika on the tiny bed. She shivered slightly and turned away towards the window. I pulled the blankets overtop of the two of us, the fleecey warmth a welcome sensation on my chilled body, and turned towards Aika, wrapping my arms around her body and pulling myself close to try to warm her. "She needs me to warm her up after all," I reasoned to myself, "That's right, she needs me..." I snuggled closer until my forehead touched the back of her head. Even though her hair was damp, I could smell the sweet scent of flowers and citrus as I breathed deeply. Exhaustion finally began to take hold. I closed my eyes and slept.
===============================================================
Aichan's PoV
"Augh, I hope this rain let's up soon," I thought, even though the sky seemed to be getting darker by the minute. Another car sped towards me. I sidestepped behind a tree to avoid the inevitable splash, just to crash face first into the pole sneakily hidden on the other side. "Oww..." I sniffled, rubbing my nose in a futile attempt to get rid of the pain. "At least the splash didn't get me..." As I turned into Risa's front yard, it seemed as if the rain had brought on the full glory of Spring. The flowers bloomed, seeming to reach towards me as I stopped to admire them. "She's always had such a way with flowers," I thought in awe at the beauty of her garden. After a few moments, I broke out of the daze and headed for the door. I rang the doorbell once and waited... No answer. I rang it again and turned back to take in more of her beautiful garden. Still no answer. "Guess she's not back yet," I mumbled, fishing the key from my pocket.
I stuck the key in the lock and turned, only to find that the door was already unlocked. I paused in surprise. "Risa would never leave her door unlocked if she wasn't home..." I wondered if maybe she was in the shower as I gently opened the door. Inside, I noted her shoes by the door, though they hadn't been put away neatly as they usually were. I stopped to remove my own, then rearranged them before heading inside. With all the curtains closed and the lack of sun outside, the house was covered in gloom. I glanced into the kitchen and living room, both of which were silent and empty. "Risa?" I called, "Are you there?" as I headed upstairs. The same was true on the upper floor, silent and empty. I checked in the all too empty bathroom and frowned, "Where could she be?" I wondered aloud as I wandered into her bedroom and plopped myself onto her bed, staring at the popcorn ceiling.
Pulling the flowers from my bag, I held them up above me and thought aloud. "How do I tell her? How am I supposed to tell her? What if... what if..." Tears welled up in my eyes as my confidence waned. The daffodils stared back at me, their dainty petals shook with my arm. I brought them close, getting a whiff of their soft scent through sniffles to calm myself. "Oh Risa..." I thought, clenching the paper that protected the delicate flowers close to my heart.
As soon as my heart had stopped pounding, I forced myself to get up off the bed and head downstairs to put the flowers into a vase. "Maybe she took another pair of shoes out and isn't home at all," I thought as I walked down the steps. Then I saw them. The faint light from outside illuminated the room right in front of the stairs just enough for my eyes to see clearly. There was Risa, sleeping soundly in her underwear on the guest bed that I had used so many times. But she wasn't alone; my eyes traced the path of her arm, which was wrapped around Aika, dressed in a similar fashion. I stared for a few moments, refusing to believe what I saw.
My hands flew up to my eyes, dropping their precious cargo, and I ran. Barely stopping to put on my shoes, I yanked open the door and slammed it behind me, stopping a moment to stare up at the unyielding sky. Tears welled up but were washed away by the rain. The one person I thought I could depend on, the one person I thought I knew... My heart clenched and my entire body felt... wrong. "It... can't be... Risa... it... just can't..." I managed through gasps for air. And then I ran again. Away from that house, away from that scene, away from Risa. Anywhere... anywhere I could escape to. I just closed my eyes and ran as fast and as far away as I could. Suddenly I bumped into something soft. I opened my eyes to see Sayu staring at me in surprise.
"What's wrong Aichan?" she asked, concern filling her eyes as she moved to embrace me. Tears welled up again, blurring my vision as her arms wrapped around me and I found myself lost in her warmth.
