It all started with the ASAYAN auditions in 1997 in which Yuko Nakazawa, Aya Ishiguro, Kaori Iida, Natsumi Abe and Asuku Fukuda met the challenge laid down to them by Tsunku and Morning Musume was born. The rest is history.

I wonder if they're ever gonna explode the group with a lot of members again.

though from what i think, if UFA would do a better job on budget allowance, like actually hire a good PV director, put some more money into setting and costumes for PVs, dont just have one person to write 98% of their songs but have some more varity of song writters, etc etc etc. MM, or even the whole H!P, would be much much better than they already are right now, and possibly even better than they ever were.

I agree with this. With the current song writer, I can already guess what's to come with a song. Different song writers bring more surprises.

I think the current MM are trying to break new ground like promoting themselves overseas. In Japan they have become an everyday icon so no matter how much they try to stand out people will just take them for granted. Just look at the welcoming crowd in taiwan (a fan clip is floating around in youtube somewhere). They were treated like mega stars.

I have to agree with the having different producers and songwriters... I want to see more varietys and style that Morning Musume do.
