Marin mentioned on her blog post that she was born in Shanghai and remained there until 2nd grade.

Marin mentioned on her blog that she went to an International school when she lived in Shanghai, so she learned how to speak Chinese (I presume Mandarin) as well as English at school.  However, since moving to Japan, her skills in English and Chinese have, naturally, deteriorated.  She has, however, taken English proficiency tests (similar to Irie Risa) & wants to aim for a higher grade but says that she is quick to lose interest and her inability to concentrate is holding her back.

In today's blog Marine reveals her two favorite English-language songs, the Carpenters' "Top of the World" and the Jackson 5's "I Want You Back." Her mother turned her on to the first tune and, yes, the Carpenters were big in Japan.

Marine didn't get that excited for anyone else during the stream.

She said during in the show that she wants to perform with Yuhane during an event like the allstars live they were watching.

Seems like Mrine performed "Suki tte Itte yo" solo at the opening Team Hana concert. Apparently Moe announced that studio videos of the new members singing will be on YT after 9/25.

i know very little about her so far but she's definitely a potential oshi lol, i think she's really interesting and has a lot of potential

After I listened to her karaoke on TF's TV show, I was amazed by her singing. However, she is the reverse of Yagi Shiori. She's good at low-note singing, but not at high-note singing. Therefore, if the song uploaded on Youtube has a lot of low-note parts, she'll win the game.

She's definitely got a fantastic lower range, with a slightly husky voice. It's unfortunate that she's not quite as strong on her high notes because H!P really only pushes girls who are good at hitting high notes, but I think she will sound amazing with some training--she just sounds a bit less polished than her fellow genmates who probably all have had more training in singing than she has had.

 

But I have a feeling she's going to surprise us all when her solo gets posted.

What's with the TF girls covering J=J songs?

I like this girl's voice! Of all seven newbs in the two groups, H!P has hit a home run, there are so many potential great singers here.
