First off I would like to share my appreciation for all the hard work you guys have done with the Dokyu series and all the other shows you have translated. I have a question. In the Makoto part they use the word squash but I was surprised when she picked up a pumpkin. I know the pumpkin is part of the squash family but is there no Japanese word for pumpkin?
Kabocha! (かぼちゃ) One of my favorite tempura'ed things

I don't think there is a specific word for pumpkin, just for squash in generalI know the pumpkin is part of the squash family but is there no Japanese word for pumpkin?

The reason comes from the fact that they were brought to Japan from "Cambodia(Kampuchea)".
...bits of knowledge. :cool

So, to the Japanese, Cambodia is the land of pumpkins? :cool :wink:Yes, "Kabocha".

Maybe so...So, to the Japanese, Cambodia is the land of pumpkins? :cool
Yes, "Kabocha".

But I don't think many Japanese know that story.
As you see from Ayaka in Cambodia (ImaToku 2005-10-28) translated by Mat-sempai @HPS,
among Japanese at large, Cambodia is famous for Angkor Thom and Wat, Cambodian silk, its traditional dishes and such. :c13:
...a bit off-topic.

This is the wrong thread to discuss this. This is intended for the episodes that were subtitled by HPS. For the unsubbed episodes, you can talk about them here: http://www.hello-onl...?showtopic=1650im having such a fun time watching the metro rabbit dokyu. after watching this, risa has shot up in my fav list to #2...shes so hot and cute. by the way, i was wondering if any of you guys have problem with the videos? i downloaded ep 235,236,239 and for some reason it has a lot of buffer and stuff.
To answer your question: I watch everything before I put it up, and I have not had any problems playing them.
