But as they say, all good things come to an end. Just before the lights went out, I think someone uploaded some current Theatrical release, which pretty much shut it down.

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but thats not the reason we shut it down at all and I felt the need to clarify.

It was a factor of multiple reasons in which shutting it down was the best choice for us before it escalated into bigger problems.
The problems came with the tracker being too big for its own good while BT was still new (a lot of technology that could have solved some technical issues didnt exist back then) and we were lacking on resources, we reached a point where it was going to cost over thousand euros to make the tracker last another month without colapsing at the rate it was going.
Having laws against trackers being passed around didn't help matters either, with such a big tracker that kept growing exponetionally I felt womby shouldn't be risking possible jailtime and/or gigantic fines.

Plus some personal reasons where all people involved found themselves without all the lovely spare time we had in abundance when the whole thing started.

Anyway, Im happy to have stumbled in this thread and read the replies. It makes all the work we done worth it.
And I want to commend all the people involved with this site. You are doing a bang-up job and this is by far my favorite tracker and tracker-related site. Keep up the good work.

The Public MM tracker pioneered the easy sharing of Japanese music without any restrictive rules. It was one of the few trackers that had an almost cult following. I still miss it. I'm not alone on this but many people have told me how they dislike those trackers who strictly enforce ratio systems and wait times. There are always ways to bypass those because 'where there is a will, there is a way'. If someone wants a file 'by all means necessary' they will get it regardless of what restrictions are in place.
