Another year and another eurovision is upon us. The 1st semi final begins on wednesday. If your country has entered, do you like your song. Who do you think will win... discuss

As for Ireland. We are sending Niamh Kavanagh who won once before. Great singer singing a ballad. Dunno how well that will go down with all the eurodance & baltic stuff thats usually sang.

I can't remember the song for the UK properly but from what I do remember it was incredibly cheesey

I think one of the best years was when Lordi of all bands won the Eurovision song contest over all the random pop songs.

I think 2007 had a good winner too with sebia. Just a girl singing with a good voice. no gimmicks

As for Germany, we are sending Lena - Satellite. She's the winner from "Unser Star für Oslo" ("Our Star for Oslo")

Btw; The Song from Ireland is really nice in my opinion. Niamh have a strong voice and I like the Celtic sound =)

Our Belgian entry is so boring, but I guess it's not worse then what we usually send.

^ Agreed, last year we muted Graham Norton and listened to Ken Bruce's commentary instead, much better. Shame that Wogan doesn't do it anymore though.

Listening through to everything... I'd say Turkey and Bosnia have the coolest thus far.

Good God, how I wish Lordi should've been our representative this year again. This year we have the most horrendous song I have listened in a long time (Kuunkuiskaajat-Työlki ellää). The drunken old men (Eläkeläiset) were much better option when compared, but no... I think I'll pass the semifinals this year and hope that we won't get into the finals.

Lol, ended up watching the semis in the end.

There hasn't been songs that I would see winning but I liked the songs of Moldova and Slovakia. And Macedonia's back-up dancers ;D And those butterfly wings that Belarus has. Yes, I'm concentrating in the music... Oh, Iceland has quite good song.

I havent been able to watch the competition due to studying for exams but Ireland got through tonights 2nd semi final and will be in the final
