I didn't see anything like this around here, so I thought I'd start one.
Just post little questions or problems and such you may have, and anyone can come in and answer. Try not to ask for help with huge life problems, like things that would be better helped if you talked to a close friend or someone you really trust. Just small things... yes.

I'll start, because this is really the only place I can think to ask something like this:
The girl who hosted me when I was in Japan is turning 19 soon. I really suck at getting birthday presents, so what do you think she'd like? I live in the US, by the bye, so something I can get here...
She's kind of girly, and she plays guitar (I believe; I at least know she owns a guitar ).

If this kind of thing isn't encouraged, then the topic can be closed. I just thought I'd try.

what's your favorite, and what do you like/dislike about the Miyazaki style?

my favorite is Howl's Moving Castle. (Hauru no ugoku shiro) I LOVE the character designs. i bought the art book for this movie and it's sooo good!!!
even the English dubbed voices were good. as opposed to Castle in the Sky where James van der something plays a 12-yr-old... >

i also like My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away. both very cute. also Princess Mononoke. the animation is just beautiful... le sigh....
