what if aichan wasn't really what we see on tv, video, photos. etc, but completely different? what if she was the possessive type, clingy, whiny, and changed moods at the drop of a hat? would you love her then?
and yes, you guys make it seem as if there was truly a chance that aichan could, and would find you and fall in love. ain't happinen.

She probably steals the covers, takes two hours to get ready just to walk to the mailbox and back, and asks you fourteen times a day if that dress makes her look fat.
Just love her from a distance and wish her the best.

well some people obviously got it a bit wrong. its not that i'm in love with her, how'd that be possible? as i said, i've never met her, and i never will. and i'm not at all depressed over that. i just don't like the fact that i'll never see her in real life. i'd love to do so.

I wouldn't be surprised to see people falling in love with an artist; it can well be more than natural. I wouldn't even dare to dismiss this love as a farce, I mean, since when does love need to be corresponded in order to be? Yes, someone like Takahashi could live thousands of miles away and may be hard to get to and, even with these obstacles aside, she may not even lay eyes on a fan but, what does this have to do with the validity someone's love? You can be in love with someone that lives near you, which you see face to face on a regular basis and who still does not lay eyes on you. That does not take away an ounce of validity from the love you feel towards that person. So, is there some kind of regulation or measurement which states that love is valid after some sort of amount of viability? What the hell’s that?
When it comes to know a person, when do you really get to know a person completely? We are all objects, we perceive each other and, in this awareness, we tend to pretend and try to let ourselves be perceived in a calculated and crafted way. A lot of stuff that people out there allow to see is not real and in this game of falling in love and trying to make someone to fall in love with us is more than natural that people pretend to show someone who is not completely real. Still we fall in love and that is love people. So I don’t freak out when I see someone claiming that they love someone famous in a honest way, is not that unreasonable if you put some thought to it. Anyways, with time love tends to wither and that love shall be left behind, for love is like a cheap whore who prostitutes its way from one to another… another symptom of the Divine Failure.

lawrence. falling in love with a classmate, and falling in love with a celebrity are really two different things. 1. you'd likely have a better chance with the classmate, and 2. getting koharu's attention and having her feel the same would be next to impossible.

Wow, people use the word "creepy" way too much here, you don't understand how a fan can love an idol so much, I am the same way with Mai Hagiwara, I love her so much and I'm sure these guys feel the same way.

it must be different from males and females. for me love is the feeling you have for someone and you want to spend the rest of your life with. the love these fans have for the girls is different, at least i think so. could they really see themselves with the girls of their choice? seriously?

There's not a lot of difference between loving a classmate you've only ever spoken to once or twice and loving an idol. In some cases, people know more about the idol than they do about their classmate. This is irrespective of how possible it may or may not be to ever have it be reciprocated.
It's only "creepy", in my opinion, when you either lose track of what is real and what is fantasy (which almost nobody really ever does) or when you lose perspective on just how improbable it really is that you will ever have a "relationship" with one of them.
Otherwise, you're just appreciating them for who they are. Which, by the way, in Aichan's case, is one beautiful and lovable lady.
This is getting way too deep for a picture comment thread...

I love how these pic boards have become mini discussion boards recently.
First off Ai looks very lovely in this pic!
Second, honestly there's nothing creepy with crushing on an idol. Sometimes these things just happen out of the blue and you can't help it. As long as you don't let it take over your life there's nothing wrong with it.
Now you could try to somehow get into the same business as her and try to work your magic, but considering how UF* has them on a leash it's probably next to impossible. Still if you do manage to do so, I owe you a fist bump.

Morning Death, I applaud you <3 There is nothing wrong with loving a celebrity honestly. As long as you love them safely. (As in, don't go harming others who claim to love her too or stalking her and jumping her bones O_O)
I also don't believe it's a different perception on love for boys and girls nor is there a right 'age' for love. I am a girl and I agree wholeheartedly with the idea that loving a celebrity can be the same as loving anyone you happen to "know".
Aside from that...Ai-chan is absolutely stunning as usual <3 :D

I know I would just love to hang out with her and be friends with her (being a female of the same age). I'm not obsessive about it like "in love" with her, but occasionally, when I'm bored and start daydreaming, I may think about how fun it would be to go shopping with her or just hang out. I can only be grateful that I had a chance to meet her at AX which most people didn't and may never get that chance. So I will just be content to enjoy her cuteness as long as she may still be in MoMusu (which can't be THAT much longer)

Morning Death said all I could possibly say, really. [edit: Wow, okay, just kidding, I said a lot more.]
I mean... I don't know who decides what is "love" and what is just "infatuation" — or if there is really a difference at all. I mean... it's not for any of us to say what other people feel, and everyone's idea of "love" is different. So all these judgemental comments are really inappropriate.
I know I, personally, tend to live more in the so-called "fantasy world," rather than that which is actually around me. It's better that way for me (and since I'm still 17, and have no true outward responsibilities to uphold, or people to take care of, I don't think it's hurting anyone), because... well, reality's not always that great. I have my own issues to deal with, and my own needs and wants. Reality and the people I really actually know in person cannot always fulfill those wants and needs, and can't always resolve — or maybe just numb — those issues. Because of that, I turn to my fantasy world. Now, I'm not in love with Ai (or, I guess in my case it would be Reina), because... well, I'm straight, and fantasizing about, you know, being with my favorite MoMusu forever doesn't really do much for me. I, however, have Sakurai Sho (of the boyband Arashi), who, well... I won't claim to know him in real life, or anything, because I definitely don't. But his persona, his public character, everything that he has somehow let (or... maybe NOT let) the public see — well, it all fits perfectly. He is everything I want, and every day I get more crazy about him. This feels more like "love" than anything I have ever felt before in my entire life (which, okay, admittedly, is not that long, so far, but that's beside the point entirely), and I personally see nothing wrong with feeling the way I'm actually feeling.
And in response to Glasseylashes, up there, well, I can indeed see myself spending the rest of my life with him. As long as he is the way we as fans know him (which, obviously, no one that doesn't know him outside of the business can actually know. But because no one can know it, there's no way I can know it, either, so I go off of what I know. And, as any Arashi fan will know, the guys are not like other boyband-type guys. They let at least a bit of their true personalities through, and they really put their hearts into everything they do, so one can tell what they really are like, to an extent.), he would be the perfect person for me, and, well... Feeling the way I do for him is not something I can possibly avoid or stop.
This is exactly the same (if not closer to actual love) than going to school with someone for years and having this long-lasting crush on them, but never actually talking to them. You know? I mean, what, really, is the difference, here?
I'll tell you. The only difference is that these people are doing their jobs. They put themselves in the public eye and perform for their fans. And, if anything, the only difference this makes in the situation is that the way we fans feel should be even more acceptable than the other situation.
As an escape from reality, I imagine being with Sho. It's gotten to a point where part of me actually, truly believes this is going to happen, if I try as hard as I can and put in the effort that is necessary on my part. This will probably be harmful to me in the future, but right now, it helps me get through every day. Right now, I need this. I need the constant "affection" and "adoration" I feel from Sho through his music and his shows, through his performances and through the fantasies I develop from them. This helps me, and it doesn't hurt anybody else (because it's not like I go around beating up other Sho fans — as much as that sometimes sounds attractive [which is exactly why I really try not to be a presence in Arashi fan communities. I don't particularly trust myself...] — or stalking and harming Sho himself), so I don't see why everyone has a problem with people that feel the way I do.
As idols, their job is to make people love them. Their job is to do exactly what they are doing. People like me, and anyone else in here who has said they also feel strongly for people like Ai, Koharu, and others, are just mores susceptible to their work than others. We also probably need this, and, I think, as artists, these people we admire and love so much would be happy that what they do is making us so happy.
If anyone has a problem with this, then I suppose that's fine, because that's just what that is — their own problem. But everyone has feelings. Everyone has emotions and needs and wants. Just like I need someone who will always be there for me, who I can always depend on to say nice things and make me laugh and tell me how much he loves me (which, yes, I understand he is not talking directly to me when he says things like this in songs. But as a fan, and a person, it is my right to interpret things as I will. And it's not like other people don't do it, too.), everyone here knows that they have things they need. Maybe some of you have a real person next to you who can fill those needs, or maybe you are completely self-reliant and strong and don't need another person, but you have to understand how truly lucky you are to have that. It is a rare thing, and... well, until I find my one rare person, I compensate in the safest and healthiest way I can. (My parents worry about me, and my family teases me about it, but... Well, whatever, this is how I deal.)
... Okay, I am really, really sorry for how long that got. When I start talking about something I care about, I get really heated and it gets really lengthy... I hope you're still awake and alive after reading that. (And it was all about me, too. I completely strayed from the topic. Wow, I'm good.)
... Anyway, yeah. 8DDD;

@freakomando: Haha, yeah, I know. xDD; This happens all the time. ;w; And as far as the "idols stirring up intense feelings in fans" thing goes—well, as I said (in my, above, massive rant-y post of epic posting length-age), it's kind of their job to do that. 8'DD; I mean, I can only assume they're all used to this by now. They signed up for it, and they milk it all they can.
