She could have been a part-time model AND be in MM.

Now tell me why would they force out someone who is considered highly popular? Just like they forced Goto to graduate right? Yeah, that makes no sense!
For a model (to be called a model) she would have the opportunity to work with many different companies, international designers (tokyo is a HUGE hub for fashion), and even get an opportunity to go overseas to places like New York, Milan, or Paris to walk the runway. Modeling is not just standing in front of a camera to take pictures. She would never have any time if she tried to model and stay with MM. Especially if she wanted to go to modeling school so she could learn these things (as well as make-up and hair because sometimes the models have to do that too......and have a decent portfolio to take to clients and agencies (photo books don't count because they cater to a certain audience. She might could use some of her UFA pictures but I'm sure most modeling agencies would also want pictures that are not so genki and idolish). Idols and models come from two totally different worlds.
