It's probably so that they can get food producers to sponsor them (even when they eat normal looking food, the idols go wild), AND/OR because wota think it looks cute when they eat...

In Topic: Nakazawa Yuko (中澤裕子)

13 March 2012 - 07:55 PM

It's about how Wada Akiko asked, on her programme, if Nakazawa can still be considered a "musume" (young girl).

EDIT: finished the translation. This might contain some mistakes as I wasn’t sure how to (literally) translate some bits, but I think I got the gist of the article. It was a fun practice!

In Wada Akiko’s programme “Akko ni omakase!”, touched by the age of Nakazawa Yuko from Dream Morning Musume, the question “Is she still a ‘girl’?” slipped from her mouth. The regulars who were attending tried to follow up on this topic of conversation, but they fired utterances in rapid succession which could be taken as having the opposite effect.

On the 10th of March, the idol group Dream Morning Musume held a concert called “End of the first chapter: all heroes, gather!” at the Nippon Budoukan, and Goto Maki, who stopped her activities at the end of last year, made a surprise appearance. In the 11th of March’s episode of “Akko ni omakase!” they took up this topic, and introduced the headlines of the papers which said “A gathering of the new and old Morning Musume!”.

Wada Akiko was touched by the age of the leader Nakazawa Yuko, saying “Nakazawa-san is 38 years old, but is she still a girl?” As she confirmed asking the regular member Minami Akina “Akkiina is 22 years old right?” and using her as an example, she inclined her head to the side, asking “What about 38 years old?”

Nakazawa belongs to the top of the Hello Project idols, having come to play a role as leader from the first generation of Morning Musume. It is not desirable that the topic of her age comes up. A tarento who was present, Matsumura Kunihiro, tried to avert the topic. He followed up saying “If you say it in terms of baseball, it’s like the masters’ league.”

But now, other celebrities such as Degawa Tetsurou and Yamasuda Okada became flustered. They followed up on Matsumura who compared Nakazawa to the masters’ league by saying “Hey, Nakazawa hasn’t aged that far yet!”

When Wada, hearing this exchange, asked “Since I don’t understand baseball, is this (the masters’ league) something amazing?”, Matsumura made the conversation even more complicated by explaining that “It’s kind of for the elderly veterans”.

Always when it was becomes impossible for the other celebrities to follow up to Wada’s remarks, as a last fortress Mine Ryuuta will tie it down.

Today, too, Mine explained by saying that “the masters’ league in baseball is something that old men who have retired do”. Here, the studio concluded the topic, and the “girl” problem of Nakazawa was forgotten.

But couldn’t it be that those people well-informed about baseball would not be satisfied? This is because of the OB who retired from active duty in the pro-baseball masters’ league, but the word “old man” is probably not appropriate. For example, Iwamoto Tsutomu and Motoki Daisuke are 40 years old. There aren’t few other players in their 40s or 50s.

Even though they might have ignored it, the former pro baseball star players still continue to play on the field. If they are called “Old man”, their dreams are lost.

This time, the regular members repeated the harsh words, trying to make a connection from the words of “Akko” (Akiko) about Nakazawa, but this might be the situation with a programme of which the improvisation in the live broadcast is the appeal.

Haha did Muracchan have a bad hair day or something? In almost all the photos she's covered her hair either by a shawl or by drawing on the photo XD
Still loving Masae's hairstyle and colour, she can pull off the blonde so well <3 and nice hat too.
It's good to see the girls together like this!
