Chapter 1: Surprise
As the first beam of sunlight shone inside a light pink room, a figure under the covers shifted. The draft of the blanket revealed a cute girl in deep sleep, hugging the pillow with a baby face. As she finally snapped out of her dream and turned around to look at the bedside clock that read 10:30AM, a bell rang in her head.
“Nani!??” Eri screamed out loud, for she needed to get to the airport at 10:45.
She put on random clothing, gobbled down some milk, took a loaf of bread, and walked into the car…or rather dashed.
As Eri pulled onto the freeway, she begin to think over the dream she had earlier. A yankee styled girl that’s not so much younger than her was clear in her mind. She dreamed of a warm hug coming from that girl, the nice smelling hair shampoo filling up her nose. However, there was something “fishy” inside that girl’s eyes as she turned around to reveal another girl. “I have someone to introduce to you.”
Flashback
“Eririn, don’t cry…please don’t cry.” Reina begged.
“What’s with the sudden leave to America?” Sayumi pouted.
“My mom wanted me to study more in another country and maybe find a job there.” Reina explained. “Sayu, this may be the first time I’m asking for this, but please take care of Eririn for me.”
“Hey! I can take care of myself!” that was the first thing Eri said all morning.
“I’ll miss you Sayu,” Reina said in a very soft voice.
“Eh…It’s weird seeing Reina-chan be so goose bumpy,” Sayu joked, which ended up by a blow in the arm from Reina.
“Shut up!” The yankee style has returned.
“I’ll miss you even more Eririn,” Reina whispered in Eri’s ears while hugging her.
As the beeps and announcements were made from the loud speakers, which are designed to ruin beautiful hugging moments, Reina gave one last look back to her unhappy friends.
Flash
Eri smiled to herself, obviously knowing that a person she missed for three years would be standing in front of her in a few minutes. Though, her dream disturbed her a little.
She couldn’t even keep herself from bouncing up and down while waiting in the airport. Scanning the crowd of people, she spotted someone. Someone with baggy clothes and wore a smile on her face. The girl turned to smile at Eri, who found herself frown back in confusion.
“Ohayo!” Reina declared, “What’s with the frown?”
The girl that had smiled at her earlier now stood barely one foot away from her. She waved a hand back and forth in front of Eri’s face.
“Oh, sorry. You’re Reina-chan?” Eri finally was able to snap back into reality.
“…”
Gaining back to her normal self, Eri gave Reina a really big hug. Though for some reasons, despite the fact of how close they are now, Reina still seems to be keeping a distance between them. Eri, filled with happiness, tugged Reina on her sleeve and begin pulling her out the door. Suddenly, Reina paused in her tracks and gave Eri a look that she never saw before. It was a mix of concern, seriousness, and sadness.
“I have someone to introduce to you,” Reina said and turned around to reveal the person that’s been watching this for quite some time.
