@mimi_girl: This may help as i had a load of problems with codecs http://codecpackguid...klcodec416f.exe if this doesn't help i don't know what to suggest.

It should help. In opposite case the setting of a priority of codecs (through Gspot Codec Information - from K-lite) or refusal from WMM can help.

For example:

Or VLC Player

Then see Xilisoft Video Editor or AVS Video Editor (the new versions).

come to think of this, I'm puzzle why can't we just have a standard avi or mpeg2 file? especially with the MPEG4 format going out of hand with literally no standardizations, every software take whatever feature they think its good. true h.264 might have better PQ but we just have to up the bitrate on divx/xvid to equal it. with the terabyte HDD under US$200 and broadband going over 10mbps, filesize isn't really a problem now. compatibilities should be first priority IMHO. I'm also wonder why no frame by frame h.264 editor years after h.264 encoder were introduced.

Well, do not worry so. The non-reencoding editor will appear soon. Wait.

how do i edit a h.264 file like these:

http://www.hello-onl...p;torrent=16739

edit as in cut and join without recoding the h.264 video. been trying to find/google for months, none work. like tsremux--stuck halfway during import; most other like Elecard xmuxer can even recognize the video at all.

You have the *.mkv file.
Therefore:
  • Demux (to allocate) streams. You should receive video and audio a stream. Pay attention to a delay of audio (it can differ from zero) [the program - MKVToolnix - (matroska)]
  • Mux audio and video into one *.avi file (saving a delay audio) [the program - AVI-Mux_GUI]
  • Edit the avi in any program - for example VirtualDub
