My immediate family know that I've always been into "weird" things so they don't mind. I get the occasional "ching chang wah" jokes and they often ask me things like "Are you sure you're black?" but I think they're a lot more accepting than some families.
As for my extended family they snigger whenever they see me and talk about me behind my back but they've always been like that even before I got into Japanese things.
