They were already a pretty unique band but that video really sets Scandal apart. Surprisingly heavy especially that one instrumental break. I don't recall Love Survive rocking this hard even during their concert. Pretty clear thrash metal influence, wonder where that came from? No wonder Scandal said they were worried about alienating fans although from the comments people seem to love it. It's too bad more people don't like this kind of harder Asian pop or just even harder music in general. Especially in Asia where it affects the charts.

Even if the shots were intended to set up a before/after metaphor, there's still so many loving shots of them wearing stylized school uniforms. Maybe they're not ready to drop them entirely just yet. But like you said, they're slowly moving away from the high school look. You can't wear school uniforms forever.

^correction: i was the fastest girl to get into that line XD

After the concert people were yelling in the lobby, shouting "Scandal", hooting and hollering. That's the kind of thing you only see at a hard rock show.

Actually...that was me and my group of friends too LOL
We were trying to start another riot like the one that happened after the Berryz concert in Seattle
This, if you haven't seen it before:

Unfortunately didn't work as well with this crowd, but oh well, we tried XD

You are everywhere. Even at the epicenter of a riot, at a Berryz concert? Yeah that should make the news in Japan, another riot happened at the Berryz concert. Too bad Scandal fans just aren't as rowdy as hooligan Berryz fans.

Track list for BABY ACTION

There'll be a duluxe magazine edition

Its basically in the shape of a magazine and includes photos and an article not seen anywhere else =)

At the Scandal panel, the MC said in both English and in Japanese to the band, some groups are kawai but Scandal are HOOOOT!!. And it looks like they are. Kind of interesting how they look the way they do even though they aren't the kind of group that was assembled by a producer for their looks.

Rina wrote the lyrics by herself? Cool! Cant wait to hear it!
Does this mean that it will be released as a single?

Apparently Rina is like the musical genius of the group. At the panel someone asked how they wrote songs and Rina said she writes the melody on piano and then later the band adds lyrics and instruments.

My question for both of you is were you among the first groups to go in for the 1st M&G? I'm assuming you were, or were you towards the back like my group? Scandal had to have been more upbeat for the earlier groups and the most upbeat fans had to have been in the earlier groups.

I wouldnt have considered my group to be one of the earlier groups.. We were among the people that were waiting in line outside in the beginning.. But it sounds like their was some tension in your group and maybe the girls noticed it..?

My group came in with smiles and waves but once we were seated everyone was very quiet until someone broke the tension with a funny question. I dont think you should let it bother you though considering that they had barely arrived the day before and had to get to the Con so early in the morning it could be that the girls were just tired like you said

^and yeah Tomo was very friendly :)

The people in my group were all very nice as everyone at these kind of events is always very nice. But I think there was too much of a combination of things in my group and that can happen. Maybe one or two is OK but too much of it especially in the front is not good. And the fact that Scandal were tired or bored in Rina's case was another factor. Of course Scandal were nice enough when we entered as an Am2 staff member was taking photos but we had five serious questions and one light hearted one. The serious questions were good enough questions but at that moment too many in row. The panel questions were good but still light hearted. Afterwards I talked to one guy in our group and he's like yeah we should've just made them laugh instead, he noticed. When I see girls like that I'll start bombing them with humor so their tired demeanor can't stand it and they have to laugh. No doubt it was kind of awkward for them but I don't think they were nervous, just tired and bored.

^
XD someone actually asked about a possible Momusu and SCANDAL collab during the panel! Mami's response was somewhere along the lines of "we need to get to know eachother a lot better before we do a collab" but Mami also revealed that her and Sayu txt/mail eachother more often now so maybe they're already in the process of getting close :good: well i could dream anyway~

That was me!!!! Ahahahahaha

Autographs:
When I got to Mami, looked at her and said MAMITASU again. She laughed and said “MAMITASU dayooooo” and we laughed at that. While she was signing my thing, Timo looked at me and goes “Oh!” like she recognized me. And I asked her “oboeta?” and she goes “Un. Oboeta.” And then smiled at me all cute. And then Mami gave the board to Timo, and while Mami was signing my friend’s board, she still talked to me. She asked me if I liked Sayu, and I said “DAISUKI DESU.” Really annunciated it LOL. And then she giggled again and pointed between the two of us and said “Onaji jan. (We’re the same)” to which I laughed and repeated that she was right. And then Mami and Timo (who was listening to us talk) said thanks to me again, and I thanked them.

Monday M&G:
While we were waiting to go in and the group in front of us were seating, we were outside of the windows at the door, so I kept trying to get Mami’s attention with usa-chan peace. And it seemed she saw me but I think she was trying to not get distracted by me. So we just chatted with the staff and messed around before we got in. The AM2 staff was really kind and treated us really well. Got in and sat in the 2nd chair from the right in the front row.
so I was pretty much sittin in between Timo and Mami. And Timo looked at me again and smiled at me AGAIN and we were kinda gesturing at each other stupidly before questions started. Since there was a second of silence when questions were opened up, I raised my hand and the interpretor chose me.

Me: “Can I get a voice bass from Tomomi?”
Eisuke-san(manager): “Voice bass! Now?” And looked at me and I said yeah.
And the members were all laughing.
Rina started the count and then Timo went:
“DOEPEPE DOEPEPEHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA” bc she started laughing, everyone else in the room started laughing too. And then she thanked me again.

What I usually do at cons and stuff is try my hardest to get ONE girl to remember me. I was aiming for Mami this time but it seemed like Tomomi remembered and interacted with me the most in the end. Although Mami did also seem to remember, she wasnt as extra super playful as Timo LOL
Oh man, I love these girls so much <3

I know you :D How could I forget, you asked that question and you were like the only girl in line. Hey what's that one girl doing in line, guys only ;) Tomomi going "oh" when she sees you. She's thinking the same thing, what's that girl doing asking a question :P Everything sounds funnier when Tomomi says it, like her saying she'd like to be a "hobo" during the panel. That's cute you and Mami bonding over your mutual love of Sayumi :) You were like the perfect person for a Scandal M&G. Yeah Mami's the introverted kind of serious one and some people really like her for that. After this event, I definitely think Mami and Tomomi (Tomi?) are my two favorites. The two members with the best taste in music :good:

I'm saw Momusu and AKB48 at AX but the Scandal concert was the best concert, I mean throwing away bias towards any of the groups. Something about a real band gets the crowd pumped. After the concert people were yelling in the lobby, shouting "Scandal", hooting and hollering. That's the kind of thing you only see at a hard rock show. With a real live band you can hear the difference between studio versions and the live versions of songs. The live versions really sounded great, most of the time I thought better than the studio versions. Haruka sounded great. The questions at the Scandal panel were the best I've ever heard. Not too lame or too serious and still interesting. (Although the Momusu panel rocked the hardest.) Also Scandal is not so popular that it's insanely hard to get a good seat, autograph, or a spot for a M&G :good:

Thank you for sharing your stories with Scandal :D

One question... anyone teased Mami about Sayu? XD If I was there that would be the first thing I'd do

No one teased her too bad you weren't in my group for the 1st M&G. We could have used you to lighten up the atmosphere. In retrospect I was thinking I could have questioned Haruna about her love of the Jonas Brothers. At some point you just have to switch to plan b, notice Scandal is tired, drop your serious question, and make everyone laugh instead.

That's cool that both of you and the others in your groups had such warm M&Gs. No wonder everyone else is high on their M&Gs. I have to admit it makes me feel kind of :bad: about my M&G. My question for both of you is were you among the first groups to go in for the 1st M&G? I'm assuming you were, or were you towards the back like my group? Scandal had to have been more upbeat for the earlier groups and the most upbeat fans had to have been in the earlier groups.

I have my theories about my M&G. Maybe too many of the groups that entered before my group were downers or specifically the group that entered before my group. On top of that maybe my group had too many uh appearance challenged people in it, some sitting right up front. I'm being purposely vague about what constitutes appearance challenged but to be honest I think it may have had some effect. And then almost all of our questions weren't light and fun enough given how tired Scandal were. A combination of things. To give you an idea about my group, I was the only one to say hi and wave to a member. I don't know if your groups were full of friendly hi-ing waving people.
