Hina Fes 2023 musings

 

Best performance

Glass no Pumps (Goto) / Ebata Kisaki (Solo) - She knocked it out of the park. Will go down as one of the top solo performances

Va-Va-Voom (Juice=Juice) / Morning Musume. '23 - Fuku-chan and KitaRio really shined

Uchira no Jimoto wa Chikyuujan! (OCHA NORMA) / Juice=Juice - So that's what that song is supposed to sound like.

 

Most improved

Ishiyama Sakura - I really though she was going to be the weak link in J=J She's improved a lot in a short time. She really is Uemura Ver 2.0

Ocha Norma - So glad they stopped yelling into the mics.

Tsubaki Factory - So glad they stopped yelling into the mics.

 

Biggest surprise

Saori Onoda - The girl has pipes, she just needs the right song.

 

Winners

Shion Tamenaga - her performance in Renai Bugyou was the highlight of the shuffle performance 

KSSU23 - They really showed up and showed out. Get them some more songs.

Tsubaki Factory - Great improvement, they showed they deserve to be on the big stage.

So, i've not seen solo, duo, trio of that day.

 

I liked [Juice=Juice & BEYOOOOONDS Premium]'s concert the most, because all my favorites performances are there:

Oh yes, that Rei&Risa duo was amazing. It made me realize how much I miss Rei's Kobushi style singing... and how much I miss a group with more rock type of songs like Kobushi had. Their performances were always so different from the other groups and added more variety to Hello Project.

Other than that, Anju have impressed me quite a bit. I haven't followed them very closely since Manakan left and I especially don't know much about all the new members (which means everyone after Rin for me). But they were really great and seemed like the strongest group to me performance-wise.

Also, re: Onoda Saori ... a lot of fans noticed after her possible boyfriend scandal she was sort of shoved to the shadows. She and Mao have always had super solid vocals.

 

 

Saorin was shoved to the shadow the moment right after the possible scandal occurred. I think her fans noticed it too late. Right now she's been pushed a little bit by being allowed to have lines in second verse.
