Tsugitsugi Zokuzoku was at 52,682 for Angerme's best first-week sales.  Since Tsubaki just hit 54,019 on day one of this single, that presently makes them the #2 group since BeriKyuu are gone.  Depending on how the rest of the week pans out, we could be looking at ℃-ute numbers.

^^ Yep, but... I didn't feel they were doing that much handshake events compared to what we've been used to. I may be wrong though.

Btw 60k seems too conservative considering they could only sell 1k per day from now on for the rest of the week to not get considerably more? I'd say at least 64k, 67k is what I'm actually thinking might happen and 70k if it goes really well?

^Then it might just be the good overall promotion for H!P lately instead of Oricon being less strict?

From what i heard, Teion Yakedo is a fan favorite. They also had a lot of good promotion for this single, and they also did an event with Morning Musume.’18 so that probably helped them gaining new fans as well.

I'd be interested to see if even the office had planned for 70k.  Aside from BeriKyuu in their respective graduation runs, we just don't really get numbers that high outside of Morning Musume these days.  That's where we could run into those shipping issues.  I've seen some weeks where a single would be doing really well, but then have one or two days of just a few hundred sales because they couldn't meet demand.

 

As a point of comparison though, while Morning Musume has been regularly hitting at or over 100k, they did hit as low as 79k with Brand New Morning/Jealousy Jealousy back in March before they picked things back up to 111k for Duu's graduation single.  If the office does their promotion right, this could be the first time in a long time that MM might have a viable rival group and could use that narrative to push sales even higher for both groups.

 

It does put a lot more eyes on Kobushi's upcoming sales though.  At this point, unless they hit at least 50k as well, this could end up making the office second-guess them as a rival for Tsubaki and they might end up getting pushed back even more.  Conversely, this could also be the catalyst that makes them put extra focus on Kobushi the way they did with S/mileage when they had them chasing the success of Juice=Juice.  It would be interesting though if we ended up with Morning Musume, Angerme, and both Factories being competitive in sales.

I think we'll know if Oricon relaxed their rules when the billboard figures are out since they usually sell way more there.

Congratulations Tsubaki, i (and many fans) didn't expect this. I know the song & the MV are damn good & cute. But this ia shocking. To be able in C-ute sales level must be really good for them.

Another thing in my mind is, could be Tsubaki gain sales in general public sales (non-hp fans)?? I think the sales figure in some group describe the "estimated numbers" of loyal fans.

I think upfront need to expand their sales into more general public.

in my opinion the good sales is most likely contributed by the good promotion from the management side..

they release digital ver of Teion Yakedo to built up the excitement..

all the 3 songs are very good, along with great MV.. & great costume too..

they put up Tsubaki's single promotion at train stations 2 months before the release, during the time when they won Best New Artist award to get people interested.

 

I think they are doing the normal amount of handshake, the same with previous single.

yeah, and they started doing release events since November, so I actually think they're doing more events than usual lol

Great news!! Who would have thought the once underdogs have now shined through and sold so well.

I have to say this single all in all is their best so far, very cohesive and the songs are all good.

I am pretty sure there will be some more exciting stuff planned out for them in the near future.
