After performing their new song "Kore kara da!" at the H!P Winter concert, they open up about their feelings about performing as a 5-nin group and moving forward after 3 members leaving.

Next week part 2, Kobushi Factory has a discussion with "Kore Kara da!" lyrics writer Izutsu Himi to better understand what her lyrics mean for Kobushi

For a moment I thought this was going to be like that one Smileage meeting, where they told them they aren't good enough and will be getting a new gen plus a complete rebranding. I know it turned out well in the end but it would have broken my heart to see the Kobushi girls looking as shocked as the Smileage girls did back then. Hamachan was near the sniffles regardless though, right? 

 

Could someone kindly summarise what they where saying? =)

Staff: And, as H!P's junior units come out, I think that it is necessary to think about what kind of group Kobushi should be as five people.

 

 

Staff: Instead of going back to the beginning (? not too sure), I think the new single should be the trigger to start over as 5 people.

 

 

Staff: What made each of you want to become a singer?

 

 

Staff: At a later date, I would like to set up a forum for discussion again with you 5 and a dialogue with the lyricist.

 

 

Staff: Lets make a new Kobushi Factory by talking thoroughly as 5 and uniting as one.

In order to understand and express the meaning of the lyrics to "Kore Kara da!", they're having an interview with the lyricist, Izutsu Himi.

 

This is mostly Google Translate doing the work, and then me trying to understand Google Translate, so it's not great, but I think it gets the message across. At least for what they put on screen as text anyways. Take the translation with a grain of salt though, some parts might be wrong or misinterpreted.

 

Unfortunately, I don't know what the girls said as responses, hopefully someone can translate those parts.

I think the girls are very lucky that they are given a chance to continue/"re-start" as a 5-nin under such circumstances - declining popularity and problematic departures. Had it been with other groups, they would have either been put on a backburner (ala Country Girls) or adding new members (ala Tsubaki Factory and S/mileage), when those groups are are just doing OK despite flogging sales/poor popularity. This shows that the management have faith in the group and the remaining girls. Let's just hope the fans will be able to see them through these trying times.

Don't be sad. However, 5-nin group consists of 4 members that were heavily promoted in 8-nin era, and the last one was also pushed more than other 3. That's why the manager still lets the group active as 5-nin.

Viva la Rock is a pretty big music festival. Looks like this is an additional day at the end with pop artists. They might get to do two songs, but it will probably be fairly early in the day. Should be some more good exposure for them whatever they get to do.

Aww, I hadn't noticed yet that they are making a star with their fingers at the final formation. I like that reiteration of the shining star motif of the lyrics

They did a pretty good job with their performance of Kore Kara da! The finished with the star hands again, but we still didn't get an overhead shot of it.

I wish they would get away from trying to singing Chotto Guchoku ni! Chototsu Moushin acapella. I just don't think it is a good song for them to sing that way.

They are capable of sounding good acapella, as we saw in the rehearsal video when they were practicing the chorus of Ashita Tenki a few weeks ago. They just need the right song to do it.

^ Kore Kara Da was amazing! There isn't a single weak link in the chain right in my opinion. (Okay, some might argue Hamachan isn't a good singer but I actually think she's doing a great job with her voice - very idolish sounding but she rarely sings off-key and she has a pretty good breathing technique and control). Minamina is so good now, wow!

 

But yeah, not a fan of acapella at all .... I always have to cringe inside when I hear it, no matter how good the artists are haha ^^'
