In regards to those MaaEripon two-shots, I have a theory about that.........of all the Momusu members Eripon is the most estranged from Maachan. Even Mizupon dotes on Maa but Eripon just barely tolerates her. As a matter of fact, Maa's "free spirit" pretty much disappears when she's interacting with Eri. I think you can slightly detect it in Eripon's facial exprsssions in those two pics above. Maachan, however, is overjoyed to take pics with her.

In my opinion, no matter how many new MM members consider Eripon a kind senpai (in fact she is), she is a kryptonite of Maa-chan. Maa can annoy almost every members of H!P, but I sense that she never intends to annoy Eripon at any cost. One step into Eripon's comfort zone and Maa is done.

It's kinda iconic that the ReinaGaki stans are also kinda weary of each other just like Reina and Gaki themselfes (except they weren't getting along at all).

I wonder whether it's smth inherited from those two rather than having actually smth to do with IkutaMaa's character. I feel like Ikuta Maa could actually have fun getting their nails done together and stuff. Still more in a superficial girly friends kind of way but yeah hanging out nonetheless

2ch has also noticed the weird distance between Maa and Eripon for years
They even point out how Eripon looks not interested when Maa is talking but not when the others are in the recent group video calling (i’m not really convinced, though... since Eripon always looks like that)
They also relate the distance btw them to the discord of their fav senpai ReinaGaki as well LOL

Not just Eripon but Oda as well
Maa and Oda seems pretty normal and close in front of fans but Oda also has not mentioned and posted pics with Maa for years (except group pics ofc)
Maa sometimes still writes and post pics of Oda, though
Don’t know why but they think it’s kind of rival feeling towards Maa and well, there are people like this kind of relationship

I've never gotten the feeling that Maa and Odachii were distant, I guess I haven't noticed. There could be some competitiveness over being the center between the two, I sense that Sakura is quite ambitious (whereas Maachan doesn't really try to exert herself, attention just comes her way naturally).

 I only have seen three people before them Maachan acts quietly and this three people are famous like severe but very kind people: Yuko Nakazawa, Erina Ikuta and Kanon Suzuki. It's not that she is afraid or something like that, is that she knows this three don't let her get them to her own playground. It is like them says "I love you, Maachan, but be careful where do you step, I'm not Reina Tanaka or Sayumi Michishige, not even Haruka Kudo".

All these perceptions of different people here are rly interesting. As for OdaMaa I always put it down to Oda being a rather emotionally sensitive person. Early on she really stuck to Maa and was often "betrayed" bc Maa didn't reciprocate her feelings in a similar way? And I'm not saying there was anything wrong by it but it was really sudden that Oda just went from trying to get really close to Maa to realizing that she's always be 2nd to Duu, Reina, Sayu aso. Of course I'm surely projecting here since that's absolutely how hurt I'd have been being 2nd to the person I try to be closest with. But yea to me Oda is maybe a bit bitter and for her own emotional safety distancing herself while Maa never felt that way and thus having 0 issues still posting pictures of Oda and interacting normally.
