I was so pissed when Kyoko died. Homura is my favorite now, but there will always be a place in my heart for my red haired love. If your favorite isn't Homura after episode 10, I'd rage lol

I'll admit that Homura is exceptionally bad-ass as a result of episode 10, but I am sorry to inform you that she is not my favourite. That'd probably either be Mami and/or Kyubei :3

And Sayaka would be second due to that beautiful, yet sad silhouette scene when she started going mad. Homura can have the lucky third spot.

I can understand you liking Kyoko the most, because for most of the series, when I first met her, she was my favorite.

Homura has, now that I think about it owo, always been my favourite. I dunno..Something about her character Shes awesome. I never took her for a villian.
Kyoko was my second...Her backing story put her there ;w; So sad.

So you guys probably know by now that Madoka will be finished airing by the end of this month. The studio is re-doing some things to make it "better". I hope they put the original cut in the Blu-ray or something. I want to see how it changed and what it was before the change.

But did you hear that they're going to make another series but a slice-of-life-we're-all-happy-in-sparkly-land version?
Personally, I hate the idea. It ruins the point of the original anime in the first place =( Thats why I like it. It's not the norm for a magical girl anime. *sigh* Well, I guess we'll have to see if it goes ahead. I'll watch it regardless, just to check it out.

Personally, I'd love to see a cute little slice of life with the characters. It's a nice change of pace and spin-off. As Madoka is like dire and deadly, the other could be a down to earth kinda life thing. I can't wait. I wonder if it will be just an OVA or a series or even if it will actually come to fruition.

It doesn't even have to be about Mahou Shoujo. It could also just be the girls together and all.

Seeing that other Slice of Life series by SHAFT would be stuff like Pani Poni Dash and Maria+Holic.
I'm all for it.

If it's not hysteric randomness and just chill stuff, then I could totally do with that too. Especially if it'd have the atmosphere of stuff like Aria.

After reading all 4 pages I was looking forward to reading some thoughts on the final episode

I have seen all 12 episode in one day and that is why I'm here now
I wanted to share my thoughts but it seems, people have abandoned this thread

Anyways here I go...

Alot of times I find myself drawing parallel lines with Shugo Chara becoz the Soul Gems looked so much like Eggs. And how the Soul Gems came out from the girl's chest is so Shugo Chara. Well that is as far as the similarity goes with Shugo Chara. But there were other similarities to other sci-fiction stories in-terms of principal and ideology.
-- Humans being used to generate energy, The Matrix.
-- Gifted girls made to fight an enemy and themselves, My Hime / Otome Hime.
-- Returning to the past to alter the future, Back to the Future / Prince of Persia.
-- Obtaining power only to find out later the true sacrifice they made, My Hime / Otome Hime.
-- Re-writing the law of the universe - Evangelion.

There are a few more but this are the strongest similarities to me. And the Hime series are the most prevailing becoz their stories goes thru the same transformation from innocence to darkness.

Similarities aside, Madoka Magica was a very good story. Madoka was obviously the main character but she was not potrayed like the usual main characters. You will notice that she was actually in supporting role through out the story. Like she said in one episode "Don't you find it strange that you all are fighting for me", or something to that extend.

At one point half way through the story I have doubts that Madoka was the main character And at another point, I was wondering who's story was this really. Then I tot there can't be 2 main characters in a story.

That shows how good this anime is when it can make throw at you so many screw balls so you cannot determine the end.

By now I already know how it ended. A briliant end but an unavoidable end, alas it is not the end of all things - I'll talk about this theory of mind later

So who is the main character? In my honest opinion, Homura. The story is about Homura trying to safe Madoka by altering the past. So for those who think that Mami was killed too fast, think again from Homura's point of view.

I don't want to dwell too much on the ending becoz there is just too many things to process it hurts my head

So lets talk about what will be the future like for Homura

Here is where my theory starts. At the time when Madoka have reset the laws that govern the Magical Girls, she had some time to talk to Homura. Madoka told Homura to wait for her.

When Homura returned to the world, she finds out that Madoka does not exist in the new world that Madoka created. Therefore no one knows or remembers Madoka except for Homura. The only constant through out this chaos. But this is not the case or the end it seems. Somehow another remembers, Madoka's little brother. And here is the seed that Madoka left, intentionally or unintentionally. At the ending scene, Madoka whispers again to Homura to wait for her a little bit more and Homura smiles in responds showing that she understood what Madoka meant.

If I was the writer, this is how I would bring back Madoka. Madoka will be reborn, doesn't matter when, but she would be reborn and given the name Madoka by her brother. Homura will be there to watch over Madoka as she grows up and they will continue their friendship where they left it. Homura can control how she age so she could in a way wait for Madoka to reach her age when Homura first met her. This could happen becoz of the nature of her powers, Homura does not really belong to any time and therefore do not age like normal or she can control how she ages in a certain time line.

Thats that. I hope to see some other ppl's comment after they have finished watching this anime.
