I'll recommend miaou, for those who likes post-rock/instrumental/chillout music!
I'm not usually a fan of this kind of music, but this is just super ^^ Nice when working in Photoshop for inspiration!
There's some songs avaliable on their sight, in their discocraphy, try them out!

One of my favorite artists of all time is the french singer Mylène Farmer.
My recomended starting songs by her : Désenchantée (much better than the kate ryan version), Innamoramento, L'amour c'est rien, Pardonne-moi, C'est une belle journée, Sans contrefacon, XXL, Rêver.
Edit : if you want to know what she's singing about here's a forum with translations to some of the songs : http://www.mf-intern...14f0df7e8a12e50

I'm not going to mention stuff i listen to that's already mentioned such as BoA, Tommy Febuary/Heavenly, High and Mighty Color, SAS, Mr CHIRU, XAJPAN... etc. =)
Mihimaru GT - They are a hiphop/urban duo, a guy and a girl. The music is upbeat. What I especially like about it is the female vocal is not the hiphop style voice in lower registers, but she has a nasally higher cute voice.
youtube: Itsumademo Hiku no MELODY
Hysteric Blue - Poppy punky band that disbanded recently. They're similar to JUDY and MARY, and the singer even sings some songs in the same vocal style, that is high pitched and super cute.
youtube: GROW UP
Onmyouza - This is a heavy metal/hard rock band with some songs containing occasional japanese elements such as instruments, scales in guitar solos, and their dress is Kimonos.
The female vocalist has the absolutely best voice that beats Maeda Yuki, actually best in all of JPOP, in my opinion! From the piano enchantment Hoshi no Yadori, haunting Tsuku Hime, to Enka in Wanyuudou, to the powerful houyoku tenshou.
youtube: Koga ninpocho
AURAL VAMPIRE - A Gothy guy/girl duo doing synth pop music. Its still an japanese indies group, but they've had european tours.
youtube: Freeeeze!
I also like Youjeen, but her stuff as part of the korean band CHERRY FILTER is even better!
CHERRY FILTER. Pop rock band. Youjeen has a 'rock' voice... she really puts force into her voice.
youtube: romantic cat!
edit: hmm, lemme fix those youtube links

Soul'd Out
Home Made Kazoku
Takacha

and some other lady that I can't remember her name! (I'll come back and fill it in later if I can think of it. . .)
