Sumire wrote a post for Ocha Norma's debut. She said she was happy to debut in a group but start worrying to the point where she was crying everyday. She loves singing and dancing and believes in herself but she didn't know if she could perform on stage. During her first performance, seeing people wearing her t-shirts and holding her penlight gave her a boost.

Sadly, Sumire will miss out on promotions for the new single and start of the tour due to having adjustment disorder :/ 

 

I'm a little more worried about the news especially with this Icchan news today haha, I hope it doesn't lead to a premature graduation, but all i can hope for is her speedy recovery!

Too much work. Have you noticed how many concert events H!P members have to do? They spend like 3 - 4 months per year just doing concert tours. Two seasons of H!P concert tours is very pointless to do. Each group had better focus on their own tours, and H!P Hina Fes is enough for whole H!P.

 

Anyways, ME:I member Ebihara Tsuzumi has to balance both schoolwork and idol work, so the situation is a little bit different. Plus, despite having singing skill, she's still very new to the music industry.

^^ I agree with this   and maybe the groups themselves should only start new concert tours whenever they release new studio albums? bcuz that's what a lot of western pop artists like Lady Gaga (The Fame/Fame Monster/Born This Way/Artpop/Joanne/Chromatica) and Taylor Swift (Fearless/Speak Now/Red/1989/Reputation) have done in the past so

You need to understand Concerts are much more profitable than any CD. Artists make huge profits from concerts. Very little from CDs.
Comparing Western artists with international fame to local idols makes absolutely NO SENSE. Western artists with small fanbases do a lot of gigs in small local venues too and post their songs dematerialised. It costs nothing. So the idea that H!P groups should make tour only when there is an album is pretty dangerous from a business pov. Of course, with so many concerts, the girls are exhausted and that's something that should not be overlooked.

Hope she will be fine. I love her, I dont want her to resign.  I hope the agency is giving them a proper long-term monitoring when they face this issue. That's something that is not gone after a month break.

I highlight this. Also, I don't want the company to be greedy to allow Sumire to work when she's not fully recovered yet. ME:I member Ebihara Tsuzumi had not recovered before LA KCON concert, but she had to go there and perform. I think even though fans were very happy, I don't think the risk was worth trying since after that, she had to go on an indefinite hiatus until her mental physician gave her a clearance.

Honestly, I think it's not that girls recently developed adjustment disorder but most likely it happened many times in the past and we just never heard of it. Mental health has been a taboo for so long, and still is in Japan (though they slowly try to do something about it now) so I'm pretty sure it happened in the past but they're now openly announcing it (and don't use the "poor health" as an explanation for everything)

Mental health has been a taboo for so long, and still is in Japan (though they slowly try to do something about it now) so I'm pretty sure it happened in the past but they're now openly announcing it (and don't use the "poor health" as an explanation for everything)

 

Probably, times are changing and mental health issues/challenges may not be as stigmatized in the past. But my point is, I am hoping they are not using this as an excuse for a cover up or sorts. As it will be doing a disservice to those who are genuinely plagued with this issue.

Oh dear. Another one that has to leave due to health reasons. Hopefully she will recover well in due time and we will see her returning to the public life when she is comfortable.

I have a wild wish that she would one day be on the same Tokyo Girl Collection's stage or in the same LARME's magazine as CUTIE STREET's Sakuraba Haruka (they do look like sisters). However, I don't think it's possible anymore.
