So, a while back, Mei-chan cut her hair. I think it really suits her

Here's a video of Mei joining Kaedii on a TV show. As she gets asked what her thoughts were when she heard Kaedii was graduating, she explained that she kinda had a feeling somebody would announce a graduation beforehand (or maybe they have known? I don't know). But when the announcement happened during the concert, she was standing right next to Kaedii and she knew that everybody would be looking in her direction. That made her really nervous.

 

During their recent appearance on Full Chorus, Mei-chan also got quite a lot of talking time explaining her Panda obsession and how she can turn the energy she gets from watching Pandas into "power". I love this new hairstyle of hers, btw.   

 

She also got a very prominent line at the beginning of their new song "Swing Swing Paradise"! Since it's at the very beginning, she'll be able to sing it every time they perform it. She also has another solo line, some duo lines and a few "oh"s and "ah"s.

Here's the full performance including Mukidashi and the two new songs. Mei-chan got a good amount of screen time, especially during "Swing Swing Paradise!"

In "Happy Birthday to Me" she has a duo line with Kaedii and a solo in the second chorus.

I just saw that this information hasn't been shared here yet, so: Mei-chan is now on Instagram I think she opened her account on her 18th birthday.

And for the 25th anniverary album, she got to sing "Chokotto Love" together with Homare and Sakurai Rio.

 

I feel like Chokotto Love is kinda becoming her song remember she performed it together with 13ki before? Right here:

 Both covers sounds very good and the original had some of the best voice in the history of the group (Still Kei Yasuda had the best rear-shake moves  )

I swear guys, I was there and this performance changed the aura of the whole venue in a second. It wasn't just Mei-chan of course, everybody was absolutely stunning

 

All that being said, I do worry about Mei-chan a bit. (Spoiler: talking about weight)

Seeing her live alongside the others (I wasn't very close but I did see everybody fairly well), I realized how extremely skinny she has become. Now I'm not one to comment on the girls' bodies, but it really makes me worry. I know people have been worried about her for a while, but to me she always looked skinny, but the SAME skinny. She didn't change, so I think that's just her body. Now she looks like she has actually lost more weight, and I feel like she didn't (couldn't?) give the 100% energy she usually gives. And when watching her next to the others, who are all skinny themselves, seeing them look big next to her... I don't want to point out any specific moments, you can see for yourself in the footage. I see Japanese comments on her weight, complimenting her for being so skinny and looking like a Manga character, and that has me worried even more. I do hope she feels well and if she doesn't, that she gets the support she needs. That being said, she's amazing and I look forward to seeing what 2024 brings for her!

 

I've been looking for Momusu's performance at the year end party and at the countdown concert, but I haven't found anything yet. Can't wait to see if she inherited any lines from Mizuki. She got quite a bit from Maa-chan, and her vocal quality is quite different from Mizuki's, but I'm still curious.

Definitely. I think her smile is the reason that draw me in. It's still my favorite part of her! I also really like the way she speaks, it's unique. Plus her singing voice, and I'm so happy we get to hear it more and more! 

 

But watching the Kare to issho ni performance, I really wish Momusu would do more subunit work again. I feel like Mei especially compliments both Homare and Rairi in a duo.

But we got the 15ki song on the latest album at least, so that's something.
