I must admit, I really don't understand the fascination with Twitter. I'm not hating on the people who use it, I just don't get it. From what I understand, you don't talk to anyone on it, so it's not like having a conversation. It just seems to be short, random observations. Even if I know the person whose posting those observations, I'd rather just wait till I speak to them next to ask what they've been up to.
Am I missing something life changing or is it just a fun way to pass the time?

Well I follow some of my friends, and now extended family on twitter and usually we don't see each other on a regular basis. So it's just easier catching up a bit on twitter. The next time we do talk face to face, we mention "I saw your tweet about..." and then go from there.
I think it's fun to pass the time. You can start a conversation with people who share similar interests on twitter. Something life changing? I think so! Here in Houston, some of us have met up quite a lot actually. We have tweetups and go out to eat for dinner a lot or have a few drinks down at a few popular bars. They are some of the coolest people I know. Plus, I've met some pretty cute girls too!
Sometimes they come see me at work and vice-versa.I'm actually planning a dinner meetup next week at a popular burger joint here. In a few weeks, we have a big salsa dancing social coming up! So yeah, we do keep busy, and social!

That is because Facebook is getting so unpopular because of all the changes.
But yeah twitter isn't any special, I only go there when I'm bored and want to read what other are up to lol...

All but abandoned my myspace but then again was never really active on it. Same goes for orkut. Never got friendster.
Use facebook too but twitter's my "post just about anything as often as I like" app. It's less of a commitment to make a posting than on a regular blog where you usually have to have pics and whatnot. I use it for what it is and don't bitch about what it's not.
Yes it's kind of off putting I got a lot of random followers but it goes with the internet.

I don't use twitter. My life isn't interesting enough that anyone cares. Most I do is post little things about major things I'm doing in Facebook. Even then, only my friends get to read that. It's mostly things like,"I'm coming home soon" or "I'm getting on the plane now."
Like anyone cares to read "I just ate a cheeseburger and took a massive dump an hour later." Posting every minute, hour, etc is just excessive."
