These days I see people loving current MM songs that have the plat era flavor. And I kinda get it, because same. But I can't help but wonder if it's nostalgia, cause I have vague memories of H!O hating everything MM released back then. Is it just me? It could be that I'm just remembering fandom depression over MM losing popularity, or me being 13 and way too sensitive about negative comments lol.

I'd have to go back and listen, but I remember more violin than synth lol. I actually think their songs from the last several years all sound the same with loads of falsetto (makes me go uhg every time I hear it).

I think even when you don't like a song, it's natural be harsher towards it when it's just come out. Not even considering that it might be a growing. The longer the song exists the more rarely it's performed. The bad platinum era songs are almost refreshing to hear after all these years, cus it's been so long you almost forgot about them. ...t every event for at least a year, longer if it's popular. That can trigger a lot more frustration that finding a bad song on an album that was released 10 years ago.
