If they cancel the show and replace it with another more entertaining MM related show, I'll be happy.
GAKIKAME throwing stuff was all I pretty much enjoyed =\

The old H!M ended around this time too.
Well, I wish for the new better show...
(but can we still have GakiKame Arto please?) :[

At last!!!

Bye bye Haro_bored_moni@. Seriously... they last more than I expected whit that kind of "show", and as I can see its not only me, the 1% (some times less) of rating speak for it self. Sound like good news, but we have to wait for the official announcement.

I hope UFA learns from this so they can give us a GOOD MM show in the future.

We watched it every week. But it really wasn't that good. I hope it gets replaced with the "Kusumi Koharu Hour".

no brainer....haromoni@ sucked, im sorry as much as I love MM, it was hard to watch. Unless MM really reinvents themselves they're not gonna last much longer.

The show plain old sucked after the format change.

The end of morning musume can't be far off.

I first saw this eailer today, but Im just commenting on it now. Haromoni@ was a huge dissapointment.. Alot of people really implied false hope in the sense that Haromoni@ was going to be this great, newer version of Hello! Morning, boy was a sorely mistaken... Even with the "give it time" aspect of things, the action wasnt there, and the result was a TV program that was pretty boring. However the whole thing is just sad, very sad indeed.

DDDDDDDDDDD:

i don't care how much people were disappointed in Haromoni@, it was better than not having a TV show at all!! i can only hope that there will be some sort of replacement for it, but for now.. ;____________________;

Oh, MM has been pronounced dead so often, they could fill a whole graveyard...
Yet they're still around :-)

I don't think that a return to the old format is likely. If I remember correctly the show was changed due to the ratings not being sufficient enough for a 1h timeslot (in other words the revenue made by commercials didn't pay for it). And I'm sure the budget was cut by TV Tokyo too at that time rather radically.
Hence the comparatively poor production values, the small set etc.
Renting a big studio costs money. You needed a lot of staff to produce the old show (you still need at least appx. 15-20 people on the set who all have to be paid).
I'm sure they barely managed to get by.
But as I said before: That ain't even the most important thing. With good writers and fresh ideas you can make an entertaining show nevertheless. And that's what this was lacking. They had some good ideas (moutube, gakikame) but were milking them to death. There simply was no surprise element in there anymore. If they can generate that in a new format...
The big question now is whether TV Tokyo (or whoever) will agree to a new show, and that's not UFA's decision.
I do have hope though :-)

Not a complete surprise. Even though the later episodes were getting a little better, it still could not reach the same entertainment value of the old H!M, which had a superior format and cast. At least this isn't as heartbreaking as the ending of Friends or Seinfeld. :)

I don't think you can blame 8th gen for this.. They're the only ones that managed to develop any sort of personality in the new format. The other girls actually lost the personalities they already had. Jun Jun is really funny sometimes in weird unintentional ways and I liked how Mitsui is so cut throat in the memory game.. Giving stars to failures "for sarcasm" and then gloating ;D

Can't say I'm saddened since I didn't really watch the show that much, even if I was a big fan of the GakiKame moutube skits. Hopefully we might see a new, even better show, but I'm not holding my breath.

Oh, and good choice on the photo, made me chuckle.

Many said it, but I'll say it again: I DO hope for a new show... H!P just isn't H!P without MM... I mean if they get forgotten, they might as well disband... But at least... what they've done... H!M eps and other show appearences(utaban, mechaike etc) (for current MM and ex-MM) are just the best... so at least (as the song says) the memories remain.. or the vids of it for that matter :P

I believe this is potentially a big hit to MM's success. With the loss of a TV show as a way to promote themselves, I feel like the downfall of MM isn't too far off. I think it was a shame that they discontinued Hello! Morning, because I was thoroughly addicted to watching it week after week. HaroMoni@ couldn't keep my attention for more than an episode. Tsunku needs to re-think his strategy on how to keep MM on top!

I was watching Haromoni@ the other week and I was thinking how I wouldn't be surprised if the show gets canceled. So I'm not at all shocked to hear that it is true that it will get canceled. Haromoni@ wasn't really up to par with the old Hello! Morning in my opinion. Sorry to the fans that really enjoyed Haromoni@. I wonder what the girls will do next.

Im not sure if everyone has noticed but Hello Project as a whole has been downsizing. Getting rid of useless or inactive members, no more suffle group, not nearly as many show appearences, generation are small too. Harmoni even downsized it started with the girls going out in the city then they started doing more stuff in a studio, then moutube, then skitz. SO im not surprised, actually i can't believe it didn't happen sooner. I also doubt that their will another show, I just keep seeing the hello project team downsizing to eventually nothing (as unfortunate as it is (i really don't want it to happen))

Aahh this sucks. The only thing i didnt like was the stupid memory games. Those games took up most of the time and it was lame. Still, I loved that show. They said a lot of stupid things, those girls did :)

Even if there is some downsizing going on, that's why they're expanding into Aisa. They won't let the FLAME DIE OUT MAN!!

Enough of this weiner talk. WE need to stay positive damn it!

Gah. This is sad... Unless they make another Morning Musume-related show that airs every Sunday, I'm gonna have to get rid of my "Waking-Up-Early-Every-Sunday-To-DL-New-HM@-Episode-ASAP" habit.

No HaroMoni@ means no more of the video segments I really love -- TsuboTsuboMan, Ai-chan's Doi Takako impersonation, Maid Mittsi, and the Aho-thing with EriSayu. :s

not to jynx anything, but i have a funny feeling that the worse is yet to come.....

someone has just pushed the snowball down the cliff.

MM popularity has declined since the Golden Era and and hasn't gone up. sigh......... it cant just all end like this. they HAVE to think up something new to keep the little popularity that they have! !!!!

the old MM spirit has died with these new members... its my opinion to low ratings of haromoni (under 1% viewership). Only waiting for better times and a more inteligent program that the poor haromoni :/

There's a reason why Hello!Morning went from a half-hour to a full hour at its peak - and why it fell back to a half-hour as Haromoni, and finally getting bumped. WIth the 4th-5th Generation, the show rose to its peak. Now, no one's quite equal to Tsuji, Kago, Miki, Mari, Yuko, Rika, and Maki, or the other well-liked personalities.

Even if that's debatable for some, the 1-hour show offered a big platform for most of the girls, giving tee show real variety; how, only Morning Musume is represented, and a 23 minutes of MouTube clips just doesn't cut it anymore.

Maybe Morning Musume willl become more web-based in the future. What are the options?

I'm pretty mad at TV Tokyo for their part in this falling apart (apparently HM@ was the "training ground" for their n00b staff). I don't see this being the end of H!P, but if there isn't a replacement program marketing is going to get really darned difficult.

And actually, I think we've seen more of the H!P OG out there doing their own things this year and they've generally been growing, not shrinking. Satoda Mai is really well known, several of the girls have been in mainstream stage shows, Yossy's got her talk show... Those who have left H!P recently seem to have good things going, too.

And as for MM? Two of the girls are regular seiyuu on popular anime (one of whom is on Oha rather frequently), two others appeared in a TV movie, many have been in more than one stage show, they appear on five radio shows, one has a regular magazine feature, and they've all been overseas. Good things deshou?

i know a lot of poeple are saying they never watched or didn't like hm@ at all but cmon...a show WAS better than no show at all right?

now all they have to do is bring back hello morning and have mako-chan host it!! HELL YEAHZZZZZ!!!! (i can see all the errors she would make already...but i guess that won't happen too much anymore ^_^ )

Granted the show wasn't that great(that memorization game got old FAST), however I did enjoy the GakiKame fun, and enjoyed watching the girls joke and kid around. I'll really miss that if they don't get another show. :(

This is just the beginning of the end. Morning Musume isn't cool in Japan anymore and they haven't been for years. They're surviving off of the Akihabara geeks and otakus that each buy a gajillion copies of the album. If you even mention Morning Musume in Japan you're automatically a geek. They'll never again gain their old status. They went too far into the hole to pull themselves out now. I believe the end is drawing near. I don't believe that the networks will trust them with another show. Their agents will have to whore them out to variety shows and dramas to keep the exposure going.

This isn't a hate post. I used to be a big fan. However, everything started going downhill a long time ago. Also if they keep adding members like Mitsui or whater her name is, the end will come sooner than later. She sucks.

Oh well. All good things must come to an end.

BTW, Haromoni sucked . Hello Morning Rocked (except for the last year of it).

SataAndagi: What describes a true fan is someone who sticks with them no matter that everyone else thinks. What the rest of Japan thinks doesn't really since I think most members of this forum don't live in Japan, but since MM isn't exactly mainstream in other countries it's saying a lot about what others think. Of course it's easy to jump on the bandwagon if they're popular but to just jump ship once things "start going downhill" is absolutely despicable. :/
