^ There is not specific protective gear she can wear, but they will most likely have her wear only trainers and/or shock-absorbing shoes to not do more damage to her spine. Heels are 100% out of question during concerts, due to the fact that those will add pressure to her lower-back. There is also kinesio-tape she can wear which can support muscles, or strengthen them, depending on how it's applied to the skin.

 

There are back protection belts .... Athletes with back injuries use it. Not sure if Maa will have to wear such a thing though. It's probably super annoying to wear while dancing ... her costumes would have to be altered too...

I don't think her costumes have to be altered that much, maybe just they'll give her costumes that cover her midriff to keep that area warm or something and give her trainers like I mentioned. Not much they can do to be honest, I think.

 

She'll just have to work extra hard in physiotherapy to get back to top form

Regarding Maa-chan.... well, as long as she gets a clean bill of health, it's really hard to say she can't come back. She could rest up for years and possibly be 100%, but then she wouldn't be in the group in that circumstance, so all the rest would be for naught. I just hope that this doesn't endanger her quality of life down the road, for as much as I like Morning Musume, it's really not worth years of pain and rehabilitation to be an idol if she's at risk for a more severe injury imho.

If anyone is wondering how it will effect dancing watch this. Ayanon was wearing the back support belt ( the black thing around her waist under the white t-shirt ).

Someone on a certain other H!P forum posted them. Nobody knows who they are because it was their first post. They're definitely from the Jealousy Jealousy MV, but it's unclear where they came from. There hasn't been any official screening yet when the screenshots were posted. The MV just aired on a TV channel, too, but for some reason the screenshots don't have the channel's icon in the corner (additional to the fact that the screenshots are out longer).

After watching the Crystal Clear Momusu performances... I'm a bit underwhelmed by Sakura's vocals :-/ She wasn't on her top game, tbh.

 

I love that line-up of Oh My Wish, especially with Kaedi in the dance team! Excellent choice. I just really think it's criminal that the camera didn't really catch their good parts. Execution is KEY when you're filming a song that has a literal DANCE TEAM, ya know? I was definitely much less interested in seeing the singers dancing lol. 

 

As for Maa.... I still don't feel good about this. I'm definitely getting Kosuga Fuyuka/Inaba Manaka vibes from this situation of the whole hiatus->coming back->graduation sort of thing. I appreciate her work ethic, but still... She's not my favorite member, but I still want her to do well.
