Sorry for the double post, but I don't think people should say a certain culture should change just because you don't agree with it. If Japanese culture wants to continue being the way they were years ago good for them. We have people here in the USA fighting to go back to the "good old days" because they're not happy with the culture we live in. We cannot choose for others. Besides, in Japan if a woman wants to work she can work, if she wants to be a house wife that is fine too. From what I have observed from far, if they no longer want to be pure idols they are also free to go and make their life as singers ie: Abe Natsumi. People are free to choose their paths and we need to respect that. The world is full of people who don't agree with other cultures and they try to force them out of it. That is not right. We need to learn to respect what others decide and not get involved.

[The translation of Mai's post: To My dear grandma ]

On October 3rd, paternal grandmother passed away.

When I heard my granny passed away, I couldn't believed the fact.

I hadn't experienced the sort of separation by death ever.
I couldn't believe it at all.

Next day, I went to see her.
When I saw her...,

My granny won't speak more!
I can't eat the spiced kidney beans and pork that she cooks again.
** Mai's most favorite food.
A lot of feelings wrapped me.

I realized the fact that she passed away.
I suddenly got really.., really sad.

All foods that my Granny cooked were delicious.
I always eat them rapidly and was stuffed.

I learned how to cook the spiced kidney beans and pork from her.
I'll keep the taste.

As my office worked for me, I was able to be with her till her body was placed in the coffin.
I really appreciate that.

Thanks to them, I was able to tell her a lot of my gratitude for her.

I can't eat dishes with her, 
I can't laugh together.
Thinking them, too painful, My heart almost burst with grief..

My granny's face...
It was the last chance to touch her.
I didn't want to believe it.

Whenever I went to her home, she told me.
"Mai-chan, Are you working hard today too?"
"You keep on working for such a long time. You are wonderful"

She was seldom healthy.
She hardly come to see C-ute concert.

So I placed the ticket of C-ute concert in Zama city on her hand.
"Granny, I have our Concert in Zama city, Come to see my performance"
I said it and left for my job.

In the first day of the concert tour, I looked at her picture and said to it, "Granny, watch over me."
I stood on the stage.

During the performance, I said to my granny in my heart.
"Mai's job is like this!W
"Granny! Are you enjoying the concert??"

I felt she was watching me.
I was so happy.
I wanna know what she thought about our concert〜☺️

She was the first person who passed away around me.
It's really painful
I'm sad.

I think that I wanna always tell my gratitude for all around me,

Granny, really Thank you for everything.
I am lucky because I am your grandchild.
Rest in peace

I love you.

I don't know if it sounds weird, or if it is actually weird, or if it's just my imagination but:

I think Hagiwara has gotten much better looking and much much better sounding since ℃-ute announced that they were disbanding. If it's not my imagination, then I wonder how much she was troubled by ℃-ute's future and settling things let her relax, or if otoh seeing the end in sight she was suddenly reminded how fun being an idol is...

Regardless of the actual facts, I don't think she's been this steady vocally for a couple years, and in my personal opinion has never looked better.

Originally Mai's voice was the one I could understand the best when they  talked.  Her singing really cracked for a few years and in spite of that she seemed to always get more lines than Nakajima.  I have never understood that.

Yes, without a doubt, Hagimai has steadily grown into a very beautiful woman.

Mai is at prime age of a girl. Maimi, Nakky and Airi alse looked their best at that age, I don't think it has anything to do with their graduation announcement.

I dunno, the timing is a little too close. Why would her voice recover now, instead of just "staying broken" or whatever. And her appearance changes feel too precise for me to just say "it's her age"

Again, maybe it's just my imagination... but 5 months ago at Otodama she didn't look like she does now.
