Came across this list, and thought why not post it here (it's in Japanese, but shouldn't pose a problem for the interested):
 
Vote ran from December 23 to December 31 (23:59:59). Anime eligible are those new ones aired from January 1 to December 31 of 2015. Five votes could be given, with 1st place having 5 points, 2nd place with 4 points, 3rd place 3 points, 4th place 2 points, and 5th place 1 point.

I haven't been watching much Anime lately. I will check SHIROBAKO. For the big anime fans can you recommend me Anime series with demon taming/magic which are fun. I've watched Fate Stay Night/Zero, Pocket Monsters, The Blue Exorcist, DGray Man, Magi, Toaru, Seirei no Moribito... and I don't remember the rest. But please recommend if you could.

is there a translation of the list? i thought OPM was only popular among western folks and comic book fans, given its mediocre sales numbers in japan.

I think you might like Shinsekai Yori. Don't let the animation fool you. The story's actually pretty deep. HunterxHunter is also amazing, but it's pretty long.

i only like 6 out of 10 in the top 10. i don't "get" Shirobako or Hibike. i found those 2 horribly boring when not depressing to watch.

Are my eyes failing me? is Owari no Seraph not on the list?? I'm shocked

None of the anime I watched all the way through is in the top ten... I am caught up on the manga for Prison School though. I watched a few episodes of One Punch Man. I did like it but for some reason I never continued. Maybe I should give it another go.

 

I was also told that Shigatsu no Kimi no Uso was pretty good from friends, but also very depressing. Still not sure whether I should watch it.

 

Out of the anime that I did watch, JoJo's Bizarre Adventures: Stardust Crusaders ranked highest (at #11). 

 

Maybe when I'm bored I might see what the most popular genres are.
