Also, if I'm not mistaken, the Monge Club is trying to win a slot on this years Kouhaku Uta Gassen.

Remember 2 years ago the drama Ama-chan, which was used to promote Iwate Prefecture. They got a spot on Kouhaku. So Okayama might be trying to use the same "local promotion" ticket to get on Kouhaku. I am not sure if the Kouhaku guest list is still open or not.
