Morning Musume is taking applications for the 10th generation auditions.
To help boost Japan's spirits, we are looking for girls who love bright songs and have pride in their smiles!

Translation:

At the start of this year, the 9th generation joined and this is our first tour as the reborn Morning Musume. In the middle of this tour comes Tsunku-san's announcement about the 10th generation. I thought, "Morning Musume's really changing steadily." After this, my graduation will be fast approaching, etc... Certainly, only Tsunku-san can envision what Morning Musume will be. From now on, there will be surprises for us, too. I think Morning Musume is really amazing. After this, I want it to be a group that continues for another 20, 30 years.

I'm surprised the 10th gen audition has come so fast!!
I hope this doesn't mean that after Aichan, the rest of 5th and 6th gen will be graduated quickly...

I really don't see the point of having an audition so quickly after the last one.... probably >90% of the same people will try out. If they want 2 more or something they should have just let in 6 people for 9th gen

and the audition name for this one is Genki jirushi, yeap. like 7th gen wasn't that "Lucky Seven" and 8th "Happy 8" or something like that CX

It was announced at MM Fantasy DX spring tour

I only just found out about the audition this morning when I went to the H!P
site and saw MM 10th gen, and I thought somebody other than Aichan
was graduating

This is really exciting. I was watching the stream of C-ute's concert and people were saying the 10th gen auditions are open. I'm looking foward to see the criteria of application as well as applicants. I hope the new members are like Suzuki Kannon (ie not much performing arts background). So excited.

This should be interesting, I'm excited for the new member. But, I do wonder how pissed off 9th gen is because they just got here, and I haven't really felt like that have established themselves yet. But oh well, I can't wait to see what turns up. I hope it's really surprising, something that not even the members could see coming.

Tactically, this is smart adding more generations brings auditionees. These auditionees realize the fact that Morning Musume is still a relevant idol group that is valued by new generations of youth.

But in retrospective, this tactic is quite sad and dangerous.
