Anyways, the guy knows what he is doing by going to Up-Front agency with all this.
He has to have something against her, that is the only explanation for it. I dont know if they
would actually get rid of her though, by what he said she isnt interested anymore and stopped seeing him. She could make up something at least, like she was young and foolish and learned her lesson which is why she didnt see him anymore, and that might get her from being booted out of MM if anything is even confirmed to begin with.

How come the heading says "Eri Kamei's Old Flame Speaks Out"? They said "Old" so did they have a story previously about the couple b4? Or this is the only news so far... After reading thru the translated content, it doesn't sound like Kamei. Just doesn't ring a bell.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. The continuation of the press coverage - whether there is new information, images or such -- and depending on what UFA does.
"Saving face" is an oft used strategy.
Even if it's a past event, it can still create enough heat for UFA to feel too uncomfortable.

It would be so upsetting for Eri(if it is Eri) and Morning Musume right now....This makes me really angry, i don't understand why anyone would do this, shes such a sweet girl...this serously takes the edge off of receving Buono's album yesterday..it's fantastic by the way!

Some of the pictures in the article struck me as maybe being Niigaki rather than Kamei (not saying out of any selfish don't-let-anything-happen-to-eri hope, because I wouldn't want to see Gaki screwed over either), but then again I've never been good at the whole blanked-out-face guessing game thing ^^;
Oh man, I was gonna go to bed right now and everything and now I'm all anxious. Heh.

I wonder if this is the same magazine that made an article that I saw a while ago about a former MoMusu whom they named A N-san or something, and that person did too much of uhh something. But it seems it caught nobodys eye. Anyway, the thing I dont get is why they mozaicd the pictures, hell in one of em I cant even tell which ones the guy, not that I'm saying Eri looks like a guy :P

I agree, this is bad press. Of all scandals, why did they decide to blur these pictures when others on previous occasions were not? It does not makes sense.
I'll tell you what makes sense, though. Someone behind this story wants money and/or attention. Furthermore, a supportive boyfriend would have denied those accusations. I am not convinced enough to believe this story. I mean come on, anyone can submit blurry pictures and a grade D fictional story without providing concrete facts. Heck, even I can find someone with the same physique and similar features as Mari, take cell phone pictures, edit them with mosaic effects, send them to some sleezy tabloid magazine and call myself "her old flame." Until anything is confirmed, then I stand against this Okazaki character.
As a result, this "news" does nothing but tick me off. Boot-to-face, Okazaki...boot-to-face.

The evidence isn't reliable, you can't even tell it's a MM member with those pictures, it could be anyone! However, I don't really care about this, I just hope everything turns out OK and nothing happens to Kame-chan!

@mrmoonlight: it does say that she's friend with Sayumi and Risa, so i'm pretty sure it's not Risa. i'm beginning to get a feeling that there's a possibility that it's Reina, though. but she's not as close friend with Risa as Eri is, so yeah, Eri it is.

Its funny how stuff like this can be a scandal in japan. I thought the story was kinda sweet... except for how the guys sold the story to the tabloid.
Being American, I don't consider it a scandal unless she shaves her head bald and starts attacking cars with an umbrella.
I hope she survives this, cuz she's probably the best member left in MM.

cutting_edge, they're only considered scandals because they violate one of the terms (no boyfriend or relationships) of the members' contracts and also ruins the pure image that is a Japanese Idol.
It's a smart marketing strategy, really. They manage to reel in more fans when they're single - more fans= more sales. It also cruelly misleads the fans to think that most of them have a chance. I'm one of them, lol.
Then again, it's a dumb strategy as well. Morning Musume has already lost two major members (Miki and Mari) due to these "rules."
*edit - technically, Aibon as well. She left H!P to be with that old fart.
In my opinion, it can be considered a strength, and a weakness at the same time. Risky business, as they say.

What on earth do you know about Kamei and her private-life? Probably as much as I do: Zero.
Hence, there's a fairly good chance that Kamei is just like every other girl out there being a teenager: Having an interest in boys. Like boys have interests in girls. This is a fairly old and common phenomena, also a very global one. Wars have started over this very subject.

this isnt really a scandal. She didnt do anything sloppy. She just happened to date a guy when she was in high school. She never got caught "sneaking around" with him or anything. (the way aibon/miki did). Considering it was in the past and it's over with, what repercussions can really happen?
