Even though I wasn't really a fan of theirs, I still can't believe that they've all graduated. I wish them all luck in their future careers! Thank you SDN48!
Much of SDN48 went me by, as I wasn't too interested in everything. But they had a great stage, and many of the girls were truly fantastic. In various variety shows, outdoors stuff and similar, there were girls who were quite interesting.
I will really miss KONAN, Nacchan/Achiko, Meetan, Serina, Nonti, CinDy, Yukarin, Ne~Ne, Chen Qu, Umeko, Nachu, Kyururun and Mami.
^ They only get together for the singles. They do perfrom those songs together at big concerts but otherwise they remain with their teams. At stages we get to see, let's say, Pony Tail to Shushu team A version. because the girls from other teams are not present. Older singles are performed by all the teams together or a mix of the girls that were not featured in it with some that were. Did I make sense??? I hope so XD
Stage performances in the theater follows the stage concept. In other words, if the schedule is Team A's current 6th stage, then that stage will only be performed by Team A. It's "theirs".
Kenkyuusei/research student girls may of course perform this stage, if they are coming in for a girl from Team A who couldn't perform that day/night. But usually other team members won't.
Now, if a team, say entire Team K, is to perform a Team A song, chances are it would happen in a concert. And note that by concert I refer to the big ones, not stage shows in the theater.
In the concerts, there are often many shuffle surprises, one of the great things about AKB48. Because once you get intimately familiar with a set list or such of a stage, you go from the tiny theater stage to the massive concert arena. It is a nice contrast, and the songs gets even more powerful here.
In a concert you can find regular AKB48 senbatsu (member lineup) doing say some of their singles, there can be the Undergirls doing songs, there are the Teams, such as Team A, Team K, Team B - doing their songs - or if in a shuffle context, doing some other team's song.
There's also the unit songs which all stages have, and here again in the concerts original unit lineups may be present, but also there's shuffled units. It's very fun to see other girls perform a song that they have never done before.
From recent Yoyogi concert, the opening of Day 3 went by like this:
Matsui Sakiko ,of Team K, wearing a beautiful winered dress, nice earrings, and playing Chopin on the piano - and then ending her Chopin performance by going into the melody of AKB48's Ponytail to Chouchou, whereby AKB48 lineup comes out to that song blasting the arena, thus kickstarting the concert.
Not something you'd see in a stage show, or anywhere else really, but the concerts do have surprises in them.
Since most only know about AKB48 and their singles discography, they are missing out on a massive catalogue of material which defines AKB48 probably more so than their singles, and these songs makes concerts great fun.
PS: During last years tour, the teams actually had separate concerts in various Japanese cities, for the first time ever. And then the concert set list was their stage material + select AKB48 single songs. The same thing occured this year as well.
Hope this made some sense... if not, I'll try to clarify better...
Krusha thanks for that thurough explanation. I had present that the stage performances sometimes did not count with the participation of some members but you clarified me about the Teams collaborations in concerts. :) Those are the concerts I have yet to see. Thanks man, that helped a lot.
