As it turns out, many H!P fans are actually XXX48 fans, as well. Try out the H!P button near the top of the page, if you don't happen to be one.

It's really a symbiosis. (don't know the word? google it!!!)
Without Akimoto (XXX48 producer/owner/boss) there would be NO H!P, and without H!P there would be no XXX48, got it???

^ exactly.
Sumire: how would she be in AKB if she didn't audition for H!P first?
not to mention some members of both groups are fans of each other i'm willing to bet.

Akimoto Yasushi created Onyanko club, the first big idol group (both successful and size; there were 52 members) The idea for Morning Musume (and most idol groups after 1987, including but not limited to Sakurakko Club and Osaka Performance Doll etc.) was based on the Onyanko Club, and because Hello! Project was successful for a long period of time as well as introduced the idea of 'graduation' for idol groups, Akimoto tried his hand at another one and that's where AKB48 came from. So without Akimoto, there would be no H!P and without H!P there would be no AKB48. Plus most members are huge fans of idols in general (Kojima Haruna's favourite idol is Sayumi, Kashiwagi Yuki and Kikuchi Ayaka are big H!P fans, Sashihara Rino is a Hagiwara Mai wota)

@BG:
Back in the 80's (circa 86) Akimoto Producer figured out that "5-nin Idol groups were really cool, but, what if I could make a 30-nin group? I could shuffle the members in concert and have them sing different songs and I could have them all sing some songs" Onyaku Club was born! Complete with member graduations and all...
But after 2 years or so (1988) they disbanded, huge concert at Saitama and all (might have been Budokkan, don't remember and I'm too lazy to check the concert)...
About a decade later (1997) Tsunku Producer retook the concept and made it work for good... Morning Musume. was born and soon after Hello! Project, turning it into a big success! National Phenomenon, a major part of the reason why we all got into the world of idols!
MM. becoming the Female unit that has sold more records, more #1 singles, only female group to have 40 singles in a row hitting the top 10 in the history of Japan, overtaking the mighty Pink Lady and all.
Now back in 2005, Akimoto producer decides to come back and retake the his baby and creted AKB48. All stablished proven system and with full public acceptance and a crowd hungry for new faces!
AKB48 turns into the hottest fast rising new sensation!
Hence, No Akimoto Producer, no Hello! Project => no H!P no AKB48...
