I'm guessing H!P didn't use a word that translates as "fat" in the perjorative sense. I'm not sure to what He-Hulk is referring, though, so I can't be certain.

hahah, no one literally calls her fat on the DVD. But the DVD does figuratively call her fat, repeatedly; if you're paying attention you'll notice it.
Watch how they film her--the angles they choose and when. They're trying to conceal, as much as they can, the fact that she's tubby for an idol. I don't care, I think she's super adorable, and she's not tubby for a normal girl, but H!P is obviously aware of the desperity and is working overtime to never let hater wota have an unflattering moment to seize upon.
The irony is that by constantly trying to hide it, all they do is call attention to it.

Risako isn't fat fat, but the other girls aren't underweight either. Certainly not dangerously so. (I do worry about Risa however, since she fluxuates so much.) Risako does make a fine case for the allure of curves.

a little heavy for an idol, but I wouldn't go so far as to call her fat.
Yossie, Makoto, and Aibon all have had times that they probably would qualify as "fat". But Risako? Nah, just a little above average.
And those other girls aren't dangerously skinny. Really.

I hate it when people go off about how teens have an unhealthy body image. FACT: Some teens have anorexia or bulimia. This is a very bad thing.
FACT: Many MANY more teens are morbidly obese and like to whine online about how the media portrays an unhealthy body image. This is also a very bad thing.
But Risako doesn't fall into either of those categories, so I don't know why that kind of discussion has to be taking place here.

Fat and skinny are only opinions; everyone has their line drawn somewhere. However, I think people who believe she is overweight have unreasonable expectations. I also think MOST people who say she is fat DON'T think she is fat, and are trolling.

There should have been someone like Risako to look up to when I had eating disorders. :] So I could've seen that normal is okay too, and you can definitely look beautiful if your normal! Skinny doesn't always equal pretty...
And I hope she doesn't loose weight, especially not now considering her age.
Not that I'm saying all of the others H!P-girls are anorectic, naturally thin do exists too, and it can of course look great. But that's different from forcing yourself to be skinnier when your already a perfectly fine 15-year-old girl... that's not hot, not for me anyway. I only see the suffering and the pain that comes along with it.
But when I think about it, Risako isn't normal either, her curves are to awsome! ^^

I'm not an expert on Sugaya but clearly in the 2009 pic three posted she's fat and she's even wearing a fat dress to hide her body. But in the pic we're all talking about she looks great (which doesn't mean it wasn't Photoshop enhanced by the way - think liquify tool). I think the right description for her figure is thick or curvy, not fat or plump. Quite frankly the ideal body for porn which might explain all the approval but admittedly maybe a little out of place in HP. We all know HP girls go on a diet before a PB shoot and we know HP girls fluctuate in body size so maybe this particularly photo isn't an accurate barometer of Sugaya's normal weight.
Not all HP girls are dangerously thin so no sense in exaggerating. Plus as someone already noted, some of the girls like Risa and Koharu fluctuate in body size. And let's stop pretending that we would all be OK if all the HP girls were Sugaya size (like the 2009 pic three posted). I do think however we (heterosexual guys) would like it if all HP girls were AKB48 size rather than skinny HP. Skinny Yossie might have the pretty, slim face but to see her in a bathing suit would be a nightmare.
