Maybe it's just time for me to move on.

Thank you to everyone who shared here and to whom I was able to help with my seeding.

Come on ... don't be so pessimistic ...

Some people are working on a new site which hopefully will be ready soon (actually I offered my help but looks like they want to do everything on their own).

I'm sure all H!O users as well as their stats will be back again on the new tracker so please ne patient

that said the programmer have to be working for free, and you would have to last long and not go MIA without getting someone to take your place, and i will say it again, it would be a crappy thankless job.

As far as I'm concerned I earn money doing web stuff (primarily Drupal and CakePHP websites) for a small company.  I don't know if I'm good at it or not but have been doing this for almost 8 years so feel free to contact me in case of setting up a craft alternative to H!O,  I wouldn't mind doing some stuff for H!O community in my spare time for free, it would be somehow a way to say "thank you" for all the stuff I was able to get here (and hopefully that I'll be able to get in the future).

Anyhow I strongly agree with Syaoran_kun too ... setting up "everything" in the proper way (and with the proper H!O logic and policies) is not trivial ... it's good enough to think about it but realistically even if starting developing right now I don't think it could be ready before many months so definitely a (relatively long) period "hosted" on Nyaa/JPS (or whatever other BT tracker) cannot be avoided

They already contacted the big uploaders about what to do. Those are the important people as they are the ones actually contributing, those are the ones who need to be happy with the solution.

Totally agree with you.   Glad to know those heroes (seriously, they are heroes to me) had already been contacted

Sorry guys but I'm getting quite a lot confused ...

I started reading the thread from the beginning (since the problem is serious) and at a certain point I felt many considered nyaa a good "fix" so I skipped some pages in the middle as I was quite sure that at the end of the conversation I would have seen a solution suitable for most of H!O users but it look like we are very far from that ...

@Krusha: what about setting up an install poll somewhere just to see what are the preferred options for the vast majority of people ?   And then submit the result to the "best" H!O uploaders to see if they suite them ?  IMHO in this way we should be able to find a solution ...
