^ Isn't it amazing how nowadays with such affordable budget we can build a more than decent system.. XD At least in Indonesia. I remember in 2000 my sister spend almost 15 millions to buy a 933mhz Pentium3 system with 256MB sdr memory, asus MB, and a simple VGA card. ^^; Large part of of the budget goes to the 19" flat crt monitor though.

I don't remember exactly my spec (it's not with me now), but I think it's like this:
Core2Duo E7400
Gigabyte ep41-ud3l
radeon 4650 1gb
2gb ddr2
few HDDs with various size from 0.5 to 1 tb.
a somewhat decent 400w psu
cheap 22" lcd
cheap 10 years old keyboard & 2.0 speakers (just literally explode yesterday, good thing I kept another cheap 10 years old 2.0 speakers in storage), and a few months old 5$ logitech mouse.
XD

It's a few years old, and I'm not into gaming or any activities requiring a 'high-end' system, so it's more than enough for me. XD I'm saving to fully upgrade to a newer, more powerful system next year though. :P

I'll just post my old glory in here, I'll keep my actual computer in secret.

Some of you should know what kind of CPU is this one.

C2D E8400 / Asus P5K WS/ 2 x 2 GB Corsair Dominators DDR2-1066 / Galaxy GTX 460 768MB / Audigy 2 ZS / 22x Samsung DVD+-RW SATA / Mitsumi floppy / Enermax 500w Liberty / 40 GB Intel SSD / 2 x 320 GB WD/ 1 TB WD / 2 TB WD / Lian Li V-2000B / Watercooled / 26" Asus LCD / Razer Lycosa keyboard / Microsoft Sidewinder mouse / Windows 7 Pro

Haven't really upgraded mine in a while. Last upgraded was the GTX 460 and SSD. It plays all games at max settings with no AA/AF. No point in upgrading.

I also have another desktop, server, HP tablet, Alienware laptop, Creative Labs Ziio tablet (on the way), and Dell Streak 5" phone/tablet (on the way). Can't remember the specs for the other desktop or server. All I know is the server has 7 TB internal storage and 4 TB external storage (for backups).

This photo is a little bit outdated. I have three 23" LED LCD monitors now and the 26". I put all the 23" monitors up above the 26" and angled them down. I'll probably eventually just replace them all with 24" monitors. 26" is too big and 23" is too small. At least for me.

Hmm, I've got several computers lol.

At my university apartment, I've got the following back in early January:

CPU:i7 2600K @ 4.6GHz
Motherboard:Asus P8P67 Pro
RAM:8GB DDR3-1600
Graphics Card: eVGA GTX470
SSD+HDDs: Corsair 60GB SSD+1TBx3 Cav. Black+1.5TB Cav. Green
Creative X-Fi Titanium HD + Shure SRH-840 Headphones |
Mice: Logitech MX518 | Logitech G5 | Logitech MX1100 (Yes, I use all three.)
Keyboard:Razer Black Widow Ultimate | Logitech G15v2 (Razer for doing work and G15 for gaming.)
Power Supply: XFX 750w BE
HSF:Corsair H50
Case:NZXT Phantom White
Monitor/TV: Dell u2311h | Samsung 46" A550

Laptop: Fujitsu T5010 Tablet - P8400 @ 2.26GHz | 4GB DDR3 | 128GB SSD | 13.3" Screen

Computers back home:
CPU | Motherboard | RAM | Graphics | HDD | Power Supply| Heatsink/Fan | Case | Monitor
Home: Q8400 @ 3.6 GHz | Asus P5Q Pro | 2x2GB Corsair DDR2-800 | eVGA GTX260 216 | 1TB Cav. Black | XFX 750w BE | Xigmatek S1283 | Lian Li PC7-FW | HP w2207h
Q6600 @ 3.6GHz | Asus P5K-E | 2x2GB OCZ DDR2-800 | XFX 8800GT XXX | 1TB Cav. Black | Corsair HX520 | Thermalright Ultima 90 | Antec P180 | LG 204wt
Athlon X2 4200+ @ 2.4GHz | Asus A8N-SLi Premium | 2x1GB OCZ DDR-400 | eVGA 7900GS | 500GB Cav. Black | Thermalright XP-90 | Thermaltake Kandalf | Sony HS94P

And I've got a Pentium 4 somewhere in the closet. It's funny to go back on this. The Athlon X2 4200+ system cost me $3000 in 2005 (but had a different video card and hard drive at the time) with the Sony 19" costing $1000 back in 2004.
Q6600 system was roughly $1800-2000. Q8400 system was $1200. My newest system cost me ~$1000.

I ordered an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9505 (2.83 ghz), as EA suggested a 4 core setup for playing BF3 Alpha. Well, by the time I got back to the states, the Alpha release ended. Now, I have a quad-core for no reason. I haven't installed it yet either. Just chiling on my table.

Oh, also picked up an Acer Iconia A500 tablet. Loving it.

This thread is as dead as a doornail... but I'm going to revive it anyways :P

This is the PC I built about 2 years ago, and have been adding parts to over time:

CPU: Intel Core i7 5820K, overclocked to 4.5GHz
CPU Cooler: Swiftech H220-X Waterblock
RAM: 32GB Gskill Ripjaws 3000MHz DDR4
GPU: EVGA GTX 1080Ti SC Black
Mobo: ASRock X99 Extreme 11
PSU: Corsair RM1000
HDDs: Two Sandisk 1TB SSDs, and 12x HDDs from 2TB to 6TB in size (I'm a datahorder...)
Case: Lian Li PC-A76WX Full Tower with 4x Noctua fans
Display: Still using the 27inch Acer HN274H, but also use my HTC Vive VR headset a lot.

Keyboard: Corsair Strafe RGB w/Cherry MX Brown switches

Mouse: Logitech MX518

Anyone here still into building their own PCs? :)

I'm getting a new PC soon.

Stats for parts (Ordered in two batches):

- CPU: i7 7700K
- Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 (Noctua NT-H1 as thermal paste choice)
- Motherboard: ASUS ROG IX Maximus Code
- RAM: GSkill Trident Z RGB 32GB DDR4 3200MHz CL14
- GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1080Ti Lightning Z
- SSD: Samsung 960 EVO 500GB M.2
- OS: Windows 10 Home 64 bit
- PSU: Seasonic Prime Titanium 850W 80+ Titanium Certified
- Case: Corsair 780T (White)
- Fans: 3x 140mm Noctua NF-A14 industrialPPC-2000 IP67 PWM (2x front intake, 1x rear outtake)
- Optical: ASUS BW-16D1HT Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer
- Monitor: BenQ XL2540 240Hz (I already have an Eizo FlexScan S2431W 60Hz, so unless I upgrade the Eizo as well to 144Hz IPS of at least similar quality or better, this is what I'll have. One monitor for high-frames gaming, and one for photo/video.)

Peripherals that I already own:
- Mouse: ZOWIE FK1 and FK2 (I'm interested in trying out the ZOWIE EC2A and the Logitech G Pro as well)
- Mouse pad: ZOWIE G-SR
- Keyboards: Leopold FC660M (MX Green), IBM Model F (Buckling), IBM Model M (Buckling), Happy Hacking Keyboard Professional 2 White (Topre), Ducky Shine 2 Green LED (MX Brown), Filco Majestouch 2 Tenkeyless JP (MX Red). In addition to the aforementioned keyboards, I would like a 60% keyboard with MX Linear Grey, preferably ISO Nordic setup.
- Headphones: Audio-Technica ATH-A900X

Of course then there's the HDD's, and on my current PC I have a 15TB RAID setup, and some other smaller disks plus an old SSD. So on my new PC I will of course have a larger storage capacity than just a 500GB SSD, but that will come for later, and I'll likely go for a bunch of 10TB disks then. A NAS solution would also be tempting in the future, something like QNAP with 8 disk-capacity.

I'll also add a sound card to the new PC, and I'll likely go for the ASUS Xonar Essence STX II, unless I just throw in the first version of that card which I already have.

I'm not really worried about any upcoming CPU and GPU releases, as what's mentioned above will still have longevity in gaming. But if I do upgrade, I'll wait at least for a Volta Ti GPU before that happens.
