Invites are no longer required! If you have or can get a .edu e-mail address use it to sign up and it won't ask you for a Japanese keitail e-mail! Hopefully you also have a forwarding service for when you graduate or leave the school.

Be prepared for a ton of e-mail from them and having a mega difficult time finding people since almost no one uses a picture of themselves and so many of the usernames are similar.

You can always use rikai-chan or some similar browser extension to cheat at deciphering the Japanese.

I've tried to make an account in the past, but I think they wanted to contact my cellphone or something for a confirmation. Of course, I don't have a Japanese cellphone, so :/

I tried to register Mixi in about two years ago...

But I can't because it insists that I need to put Keitai Address! :omg:

I don't have any ".edu" email and of course I don't have Keitai!! :sob:

I really want to join Mixi........ :cold:

[or can I buy Japanese phone with permanent Keitai address and use it outside of Japan? I love their phones.... :drool: ]
