My Dad and I saw it the day it came out (Yes, my father took off work early to go see it
). I didn't read the book, but I really enjoyed it
I didn't look at it from any point of view besides a good story, though, so that may be why.
I'd recomend it to anyone. But I guess to take it from other POVs, my brother read the book and didn't like it, but my dad read it and said he liked it
That may not help anyone though :

The movie sort of stalls at the end. The pacing of the book is better though, but of coz you cant include all the elements into the movie

ZONE is only good at one thing... that is, making music

lol i skipped school just to watch it with my IB friends on opening day cuz we had read the book for one of our classes. i thought they did a pretty good job considering they had to make a movie for a very popular book. sure it may have been better but then again it could've been a LOT worse

read mah blogs =D
and read mah reviews =D #2 on that list, and going up

Its funny that all of these protesters are trying to get people not to see the movie, which is helping the directors sell more tickets....
They really should just stop their whining and pay off some critics to write horrible reviews.
Oh well, I'm not going to watch it because I have no interest.

I just got back from seeing the movie and I'd have to say that I enjoyed it (it wasn't dull...at least not until the very end). As far as I'm conserned it was worth watching; however, I went with my friend (who has read the novel) and he thought it good to a point but was very upset with the changes made in the movie as compared to the book and after hearing his arguement I can see his point on how it seems to be a bad change, but for me (one who hasn't read the novel) I'd think it worth a look. As for the protestors and stuff, yeah, well, it is an established theory and people are allowed to voice those theories (whether it be in novel form, movie, etc....). It probably won't turn you into an anti-christian or anything, but it does give a exciting mystery story (unless you're looking for a reason to be anti-christian...then I suppose you could give it a try for that purpose).
NEwayz, point is that I thought it was pretty good and I suggest watching it to anybody with slight interest in it but who isn't sure whether it's worth viewing.

saw the movie yesterday and i really liked it i'd give it a B+, i hate the fact that all these people are trippin over this, i mean the church right down the road from my house, is giving a sermon explaining to falsities of The DaVinci Code, to me a person themselves should decide what fact or fiction themselves, to me the whole movies is a big "what if" question

Well...it bases itself on the whole idea of Christ having a child.
And by default the Church would be opposed to it because sex is considered an "unpure" act.
Because of this the almost all of the Church would be opposed to the idea that Christ didn't die a virgin.

It also has to do witht he fact that the church doesn't like women in power. *Boo!-insert many bad words-* If Christ had a child with Mary, that would put Mary (after Jesus died) in the most powerful position in the whole religion. But since the church doesn't want a woman in that position, they deemed her a whore and cast her off. To be realistic, since Jesus is really Jewish, and at that time it was VERY odd not to be married, there is a huge possibility that Mary was Jesus' wife and they did have a child on the way. So the book/movie isn't just a "what if", its a real possibilty just turned with a fiction edge.

Yanno, *I* liked the movie. Preposterous and unbelievable plot but Tom Hanks, man. Ya gotta believe. Also: Audrey Tautou is crush-worthy.
