Hinatazaka46, formerly Hiragana Keyakizaka46, is the third group of Sakamichi Series, and the sister group of Nogizaka46 and Keyakizaka46. Formed in November 30th 2015 during an episode of Keyakitte Kakenai? where the group revealed that Nagahama Neru, applicant of the first generation auditions, would be joining the group as a member of both Kanji and Hiragana Keyaki. It was on this day that they announced auditions for the Hiragana Keyaki group. The group is believed to be an Unders group, similar to that of Nogizaka46's under's group. On May 8th 2016, 11 new members were added to the group, and debuted in Keyakizaka46's second single "Sekai ni wa Ai Shika Nai" with the song "Hiragana Keyaki".

 

On February 11 2019, the group announced their independence from Keyakizaka46 and re-branded as Hinatazaka46. The group currently has 23 members.

Yay! This is best news I've seen in awhile. They've done so much on their own, so it makes me happy to see them as a full group now, rather than an under group. : )

I saw the announcement live and couldn't believe it, I was excited at first because of the 1st singles (and it was weird they annouced the single as "debut single" since they already debuted. But this is for the best, I know there won't be W-Keyakizaka anymore but it's necessary to happen. I'll enjoy the remaining time as Hiragana while expecting a great debut a Hinatazaka. I wonder how their system will be, because I think they could have Fukujin like Nogi.

^I actually think that's what they're planning, now that Keyaki and Hinata have their own 1st and second gens, they each have enough members to create a smaller senbatsu filled with fukujin (1st and 2nd row), followed by their unders. Management will want to push 2nd gen members and make them more popular, so this step is the most logical and necessary. Kinda looking forward to it!

^I don't think Keyaki will have Fukujin at this point, but I can see Hinata going for that system. Since debuting as Hiragana the 1st and 2nd row have become smaller by time, the last one looks like it has a Hachi Fukujin, and those 8 are the main image in the last advertising campaign. Let's see how it'll be.

They don't have fukujin when you look at it in terms of line formation, because the group still sticks with the whole 21 bonds thing or whatever, and Takahiro is used to his 7-7-7 or similar lineup's. But since we now have 2nd gen kanji, management will definitely want to push those girls and the best and easiest way to do it would be to for the nogi 3rd gen route and push multiple members into the spotlight from the get go. I really hope we see fukujin being developed in both groups, I can already pick out the members who could be within that position. 

And gosh can you imagine if the Sakamichi groups have a collab track with 6 fukujin members from each group???? I would die lol

^Well, I don't want to sound pessimistic but I think the 2nd gen was added to replace the current members when they decide to graduate. The ambivalent performances with 2nd gen members kind of confirms they will stick to the 21-nin senbatsu. The Kuroi Hitsuji covers gives more relevance to those in the 2nd row than the 1st row (besides the center), and that implies that management will decide to give more spotlight to anyone in the formtation (except the center). But who knows? Maybe they'll end up having Fukujin members after all. 

 

Since Hinata is starting, I hope they can implement the Fukujin system from Nogi. It's necessary.

Kakizaki Memi announced graduation today. She's finishing high school and she has been having a hard time balancing mental and physical health and idol life.

Hello! New Hinatazaka fan here!

I've been talking to a Japanese friend online and she is a big Hinatazaka fan. I introduced the current Morning Musume to her and she got hooked. She told me lots about Hinatazaka, and I must say, I'm really getting into them, too.   I especially like their latest single! Have you checked it out yet? I think it's so catchy   

 

Sooo... of course I introduced my friend to Maa-chan when we talked. I asked her if there was a funny member like that in Hinatazaka, too. She told me about Iguchi Mao, who I think is absolutely hilarious   unfortunately, she has graduated already. So besides her, I only recognize Higashimura Mei because that's her favorite member.

 

That's why I'll just go ahead and revive this thread by asking you guys: Who do you think is a member to look out for in Hinatazaka?

My favorite is Mirei! But if you're looking for funny members like Maachan I would say Miho? She's pretty funny! Every time I watch their show hinaai, she always makes me laugh! 

I would say definitely look out for the new gen (3rd members), 2nd gen members Miku, Miho, and Manamo, and 1st gen gems Sarina, Kageyama, and Mei!
