This makes Shion the first of the girls from the 2017 Hello! Project New Member audition, that opted to join the KSS, to debut in H!P. Congrats to her! Hopefully Nanami and Yulia will join her one day!

omg lmao yes tamai shiori. somehow tamenaga shion and tamai shiori really messes with my brain. i nearly wrote 'tamenaga shiorin' as shion's name just now. I think shiori looks more like mariko but I do see it a bit with shion!

BTW, Kamiko is a big fan of Shion. She mentioned many times on Maimi's radio show and in other H!P publications for the past year or two that Shion was her favorite KSS. Hopefully they get along well together in ANGERME

Shion was my oshi in KSS, so I'm just so happy for her. She is turning 17 soon, so I was afraid of her quitting, thanks god they realized how charming she is. But now I have 2 oshis in Angerme, what to do Anyway, I can't wait to see her performing.

Shion mentioned during the latest Harodori episode that this was a real possibility. She had been having discussions with her mom almost daily about her possibly ending her time in the KSS... but I'm glad that she's debuted now

I doubt she wanted to quit the KSS since she has such a strong work ethic... but her parents had been paying for her transportation to KSS lessons all the way from Nagano for almost 3 years now, which is not cheap. They might have also wanted her to focus on studying for the national university entrance exam with her free time, instead of pursuing her dream, since debuting might have seemed hopeless.

 

Thanks for not giving up on Shion, Mr and Mrs Tamenaga!

Shion won the dance award at the shindan test this year. That award was won by Kudo Yume the year before, and by Maeda Kokoro for the two years prior to that.

She sang Goto Maki's "Daite yo! PLEASE GO ON."

Shion was upset and shed a few tears backstage because the half-skirt didn't tear off properly during her routine, and she didn't finish with the right pose that she wanted.

She quickly recovered though and was fine for her next performance right after that

Someone put together a quick edit of parts of her Shindan Test performances from 2018 - 2020. Her first Test performance was "Tachiagirl" (sort of in S/mileage cosplay).

 

She was part of this 4-member KSS unit performing "Nen ni wa Nen (Nen'iri Version)" in September 2020. She gets the opening line.

 

Another September 2020 4-member unit, performing "Hatsukoi Sunrise".

 

And another, performing original Kenshuusei song "Omotesando A5".
