What even is this? I looked their yt channel up and it looks totally amateurish. How did she end up not getting chosen?

 

God I'm glad she's in the KSS instead. I love her voice and she's really cute.

It was an audition for trainee units related to an underground idol project. I briefly looked into it a little while back and I'm not surprised she wasn't chosen, if only because the results skewed older. The winning lineup seems to have mostly been girls 17-22 years old, with about six of twenty-seven having been under 17 (including a 16 year old, so it might as well have been 5/27).

I'm sure there were other factors, but I'm content just knowing I get to enjoy her time in H!P for the moment.

I guess, being a KSS isn't her thing after all... I dunno, only a couple girls (Shutto Anna for example) of this gen give me a good gut feeling about them being successful eventually... I guess the hype around the documentary put them under too much pressure to take whatever is given to them.

Although we'll likely never know her actual reasoning, I don't think it should be forgotten that Momoko was another of the girls in the unfortunate distance/travel situations.

First it was Gotou Sayaka, now Momoko and Ryo too. They are practically my Top 3 favorites to debut.

Distance is the most logical explanation. Very few of the girls that live far away stick around. Immediate center in an Akimoto group, though. She clearly made the right decision.
