Oh wow I had to Google that one.  Town of less than 5000 people.  Local economy looks to be based on agriculture.  A literal country girl.

She also lives far from Sapporo (two and a half hours each way by train). Traveling from Tokyo to Kyoto, for instance, takes the same time on the Shinkansen.

It's been pointed out on 2ch that her travel costs could add up considering how far out she lives.  I hope that won't be a factor in her longevity.

 

I've never seen a KSS get such a huge amount of instant hype so I would think she's likely to do well in H!P if she can stick it out for however long they wait to debut her.

Hopefully it'll be far easier financially for the agency compensate, which I'm sure they'll be even more inclined to do if that initial popularity starts equally goods sales.

Trivia: Rankoshi's official flower is Magnolia Kobus. Thats the flower Kobushi Factory got its name from.

Distance wise in a straight line, Rankoshi is closer to Tokyo than Sapporo
Because it is a little bit south than Sapporo.
Rankoshi is also near the famous lake Toya. This lake is known for Nakajima Island which is a big island smack in the center of the lake. It is a "dekai" lake
