No, that's not correct. There are four other AKB48 singles that all sold more:
- Flying Get: 1,625,849
- Manatsu no Sounds good!: 1,822,220
- Sayonara Crawl: 1,955,800
- Labrador Retriever: 1,786,825
Flying Get's sales figure I do expect to be beaten of course. It remains to be seen what other songs of theirs can be beaten.

I was talking about non AKB singles (since 2001 as that was the year it started to get very hard to sell a million), not AKB singles.
^
Could get close with Labrador, but I don't really see it it going any further even if it is one of the best AKB singles in a long time.
