This drama is the complete opposite of the school dramas of the last season. Last season, the school dramas were from the perspective of teachers. So the emphasis is on the meaning of education, how to make children happy / successful / etc. Nobuta is totally in the opposite perspective. It comes from the view of the kids, the totally self indulgent ones, whose most important thing is following the gossip of the day or else be left behind. Yet each day is as unmemorable as before..... wat so good about Nobuta wo produce?

Shuuji sees the reality in all of this, but he's a realist and sees the futility of fighting against the system. Yet when nobuta enters the picture, he finds himself compelled to get involved.
This is the first drama in a long time which talks about students from the students' point of view. It's about making memories and friends instead of just passing days. It's a different perspective and quite unique and interesting. The school here is like a memory, the students are like imprints and the events are like legends. You have the demonic teachers, the requisite school events, yet everything combine into a sweet cocktail of memories that leaves the audience cheered by their successes and trials.
The emphasis is not on Nobuta, but on Shuuji and Akira. Nobuta is just the impetus. A cause that they devote themselves to and find that they cannot pull away from. For this, I view Nobuta the same way

im watching Hana Yori Dango right now.. and i dont think it will be as good, but the thing that makes Nobuta so good is the very well developed characters. i thought the main characters had very interesting personalities by themselves.. putting the three of them together was really fun to watch. their classmates were interesting too. i liked how they weren't just random boring characters. the one other thing that made this drama great, was that it made you think it was so cliche with the plots, then where it gets there, you get smacked in the face and something totally different happens.
to me this drama was addictive, the slang they use.. "byecycle!", "mochi~!", and all that are just fun, the only thing that kept me from watching it all from one sitting was the space on my computer.. lol.
very good drama. i loved it from beginning to end.

he just play along with the world called school system.
he assumes that all he has to do is make himself fit in, act like he's in the major role in the peers,
but at the same time not giving everything in. but as time progresses, he meets nobuko and akira, and begin to realize importances of interacting & friendship... he sees his own reflection on producing nobuta.
i can kind of relate to how shuji felt... you have to act against your own will in order to be accepted by society. sometimes you have to lie, especially in working environment, with your boss and co-workers. very thoughtful, unlike other school dramas in the past. personally i think this was the best dorama this season.
and yeah, there are many addictives like mochi, bi-bicycle, kon kon, and nobuta power juryu !!!

1.
Trust
and see wat're their responses:Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour
Akira: "封印の術!" rofl
Mariko: "So wat!"
Nobuta: "i choose to believe him"
2.
Friends
How many frens i have? Where are they now? Why we didn't contact each other ever since we're apart? How many friends do you have? Who are they?
somehow i understand Shuuji's loneliness.....
