I'm downloading the 30 day trial for VX right now (it apparently has full functionality and I certainly won't need more than 30 days to do this so should be enough)

 

I've used previous versions of RPGmaker in the past so I have a vague idea of how some things are organized but... that leaves a lot of stuff I don't know about so I'm sure I'll be needing your help at some point in the process

Also one question for translating the other game; do you have any idea where'd I'd find "Common Events" that are used multiple times?

Sure. Click on this icon or press F9. There you will have the common events tab.

edit: Ok, found another one. Not sure about the title now, but it seems to be Musume。 Seisen Episode 2.

Anyways just finished translating the first area....so maybe 10% through the dialogue... 

This is a lot harder work than I thought it would be, .  It's not that the translating itself is hard, it's just so tedious having individually select and edit them all...

Finished translating the first half of the game... whew, that was a lot of rewriting stuff.

Anyways I'm all translated out so... going to bed now.  Hopefully will get through a bit more tomorrow between classes.

^Yeah, I guess I could.  No promises on how fast though,

However finding it might prove to be a challenge.  The developer stopped offering it for download as of 2012/10/03 and the wayback machine's oldest archive of the page is from February of 2013 so... the best route to find the game will probably involve finding someone else who already has the game downloaded and asking them to upload it.

edit: I also will replace the download link for the Musume seisen episode two with a .rar file (it was that indeed, since I was able to unzip it correctly now)

Trying to get through all the common events during my boring 3 hours class.  So much redundant text... lol  I mean it's still more exciting than actually paying attention to class but... My god, there's so many different variations of the same "○○に行く？" message.

Btw, there is no need to translate comments, event names or variables, since they won't show up in dialogue. Also, will you translate the items, skills statuses, etc as well? (just those that show up in the game)

^No I know, I've more or less figured out what actually appears in the game.  

And yeah, I was planning on trying to translate the skills and whatnot, I don't think those should be too hard.  

Though speaking of that, for the skills/equipment/etc... that are based off of song lyrics or names, would y'all prefer direct romanization or translation? 

For example, there's a piece of armor called "シルバーの腕時計", named after the song.  Would y'all prefer I just romanize items like this ("Silver no Udedokei") or translate them ("Silver Wrist Watch")?

I feel that way people would recognize the easter eggs easier. If there are many items/skills like that, you can probably let that work to me, since it's just romanization, I can work with projecthello.com or kiwimusume as a reference.

^There's a LOT of them, and quite a few of them are references like that, but there's also many that aren't.  

As much as I hate turning down help, it'll probably still just be faster for me to go through them all.

Maybe you can try with the romaji version first.

^Well don't want to spoil too much, but basically the members of Morning Musume。 (Colorful Era lineup) find themselves at Sky Tree's Solamachi, not knowing how they got there, and being chased by seemingly insane people. 

Anyways they run into Gakisan who reveals that there's a radical faction of sorts within the UFA whom have engineered this situation with some dark goal in mind...

 

And... I won't spoil anything else because I think it's a fairly interesting (if not a bit insane) plot to experience for yourself~
