It says team Maken ki... possible anime tie-i since Maken Ki is currently in its 2nd (?) season?

I doubt it. Earlier on twitter they used the hashtag #makenki. Everything that had to do with that anime came up and they were alot of it, alot of ecchi stuff too
Then the management changed it to #teammakenki, obviously to avoid all the unnecessary cluter from the anime Now #teammakenki is unique to this 3-man group.

Too bad, it would probably have been really good publicity. Didn't Stylips do an ED an ecchi anime (High School DXD with StudyXStudy) before they split from UFP and became part of Style Cube? But then again, naming the group after the anime would have been a guarantee that this would be some one off group, which would suck too.

It'd be good publicity but I doubt that would be the way management would go about this sort of collaboration. Frankly, it's great that they're just doing the collaboration in the first place. I mean, sure they ARE all under UF but aside from collab concerts and those other collab idol events, they're all promoted very differently, and their kinds of activities are different too. It's good enough they were able to get them together for an at least semi-permanent thing (as in not just for one concert). And if nothing else, the name is a good easy way to refer to them, regardless if this is just for the tour or if it continues after that. I'm kinda tired of having to type out all three acts' names in reference to them all...

 

But again to your point, StylipS is different anyway, they're specifically an anime song group, all their singles are done for anime. While regular idols occasionally do anime collabs, it's not really the same because they release many more singles that have nothing to do with any anime. This group was created as an alliance of three idol acts, and not for the purpose of becoming an anime song group, so it probably wouldn't make sense to throw in an anime song out of nowhere, even if it would have been good promotion.

@SailorKamei, UUG and The Possible did a dance cover of Wakuteka if I recall correctly. They did it at one of their 2-man live shows around that time when Wakuteka was released.

As for this 'We were ignored as Eggs, but you can't ignore us now!' spirit, UUG are carrying it with them. I have a feeling Kikka and The Possible are slowly adopting it too.

Hm, now that I think about it, I wonder why Kitahara Sayaka isn't in this. Is she still under Upfront?

Saya still is if I'm not mistaken, but she is fulltime anisong now. From what I observed anisong artist and idols rarely appear together on the same stage, similarly like rock and idol. But that perception is about to change. UUG and The Possible had already done collaboration projects with rock bands successfully. @JAM 2014 this coming June is going to bridge the gap between anisong and idol. UUG will be involved in this event. Imagine if StylipS and Team Makenki have a show! Ever since Style Cube when their separate ways we never saw Nocchi interact with anyone from H!P or UF anymore

Part of me wishes Sayaka was part of this, but I think she's fine as she is, doing stuff for anime. It's too bad we don't see more of the oldschool eggs getting together, since a lot of them have chosen different paths aside from the up-front idol path. It might be hard to get more of them together but maybe in the future, we can hope.

I was gonna sign up earlier but I didn't know there was an overseas option!! I have no idea which it is (not very good at kanji) so please tell me? Maybe screenshot? You know I need to sign up... =/ But I can't if I don't t know what option to pick. Help?

It lets us put overseas but doesn't allow non-numeric zipcodes in the UK everyone's 'postcode' has letters and numbers in it I'm not sure what to do.
